In some examples, the follower recesses are adapted such that in at least the extended condition fluid pressure at underside facing surfaces of the followers toward the follower recesses are substantially hydrostatically balanced with a fluid pressure at opposing top facing surfaces of the followers substantially exposed to the chambers. In some examples, three pressure zones may be defined between the followers and follower recesses the three pressure zones including an intermediate pressure zone and two laterally pressure zones on opposing circumferentially lateral sides of the intermediate pressure zone.

Rotary vane pump

A rotary vane pump including a housing, and a motor. The motor includes a shaft which is coupled to a rotor. The rotor defines a plurality of slots. A plurality of free moving vanes are disposed within the slots. In one example, the rotor is formed from a first material and the plurality of vanes are formed from the first material and impregnated with a second material. The first material can be a carbon material. The second material can be a resin material, an antimony material, a copper material, or a silver material.

LOW POWER CONSUMING MODULE FOR A VACUUM PUMP
20170350392 · 2017-12-07 ·

The present invention provides an improved vacuum pump assembly for a motor vehicle comprising of a housing, a rotor, modified vane, a sealing ring, a cover, wherein, the modified vane containing a vane slider is having at least one oil vent or relief hole or slot, for the reduction of the exit port oil peak pressure, by channelizing oil supplies to the vane top and bottom face, thereby improving the seal-ability between the moving and stationary part of the pump; and the modified vane further having an oil vent control at the exit port, for maintaining oil pressure and reducing the exit port hydraulic pressure, leading to reduction in the opposite end vane slider tip load causing low friction between the pump housing, the vane and vane slider, and further channelizing the excess amount of oil to the vane top face which creates additional sealing between the vane and the housing, reducing the air leakage between the low pressure chamber and high pressure chamber inside the pump.

Rotary engine
11680520 · 2023-06-20 ·

A rotary engine comprised of a pair of counterrotating rotors within a non-rotating outer housing. Each of the rotors is coupled to a common power shaft, one directly and the other through a reversing gear arrangement. Both are driven by the hyper-expansion of combustion gases in a repeating combustion cycle. Each has a generally circular, nearly frictionless working surface perpendicular to the power shaft axis. Each rotor surface defines chambers which rotate past each other. Within such chambers, compressed air and fuel are introduced, mixed, ignited, allowed to hyper-expand (and thus cause the rotation) and exhausted. The power shaft may be connected to a conventional clutch, torque converter, gearbox, differential, alternator or a similar system.

Oscillating piston engine

An engine configuration that uses multiple opposing piston pairs to form respective expansion chambers for expanding a gas within to move the pistons to drive a main shaft. The engine can be configured to operate as an internal combustion engine that uses diesel fuel, gasoline, or natural gas, or it can be configured as an expander to convert high pressure high temperature gas to rotary power. The pistons may be mounted on the circumference of one or more disks. For any given set of choices of numbers of pistons and sizes of pistons, disks, and gears, there are disclosed dimensional constraints useful for more efficient functioning of the engine. This engine can be provided with a compact design which results in high power to weight ratios.

Variable displacement oil pump

A variable displacement oil pump includes: a variable displacement mechanism that is able to change a discharge amount per rotation of an input shaft. The variable displacement mechanism includes a pump housing, an oil pressure chamber provided in the pump housing, and a capacity adjustment member displaced by oil pressure from the oil pressure chamber. The capacity adjustment member is configured to be operated when receiving control oil pressure that is supplied from a control valve to the oil pressure chamber. The pump housing has an oil release hole that is opened to face the oil pressure chamber and that penetrates a wall section of the pump housing to partially release oil.
