CONSTANT CROSS SECTION MANDREL FOR CMC COMPONENTS
A mandrel for a molding process includes a first portion and a second portion that form a mandrel having a channel between the first and second portions. At least one locking pin is configured to urge the first and second portions away from each other to establish a gap in response to inserting the locking pin into the channel along a respective end of the mandrel. A molding apparatus and method of forming a matrix composite component are also disclosed.

Damper seals for rotating drums in turbomachines
A damper seal for a turbomachine includes an annular body having an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface separated by a thickness. As such, the inner circumferential surface may define a plurality of cavities arranged into a plurality of circumferential rows and at least one partition positioned between at least two of the plurality of cavities. In addition, the inner circumferential surface may further define at least one plenum arranged between two of the plurality of circumferential rows.

METHOD FOR REFITTING BLADE SHROUDS OF A ROTOR WHEEL IN AN AIRCRAFT TURBOMACHINE
A method for refitting blade shrouds of a rotor wheel in an aircraft turbomachine is described. The rotor wheel has a disc bearing blades that each have an airfoil extending between a root and a shroud, the shroud of each blade having lateral edges comprising including shapes complementary to the lateral edges of the shrouds of the adjacent blades. The lateral edges of the shrouds are interlocked in engagement with one another such that anti-Wear coatings of these edges are in contact With one another in a desired interlocking engagement position, and at least one of the lateral edges of at least one of the shrouds being able to be disengaged from the lateral edge of an adjacent shroud in an undesired disengagement position. The method includes, when an undesired disengagement position is detected, a step of inserting a re-engagement device into the turbomachine.

DOUBLE BRUSH SEAL ASSEMBLY
A seal assembly for a gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a first side plate, a second side plate and a backing plate that extend circumferentially about an assembly axis. A first brush seal and a second brush seal are positioned on opposite sides of the backing plate such that the first brush seal is between the first side plate and the backing plate and such that the second brush seal is between the second side plate and the backing plate. The first brush seal is dimensioned to establish a first sealing relationship with a first gas turbine engine component. The second brush seal is dimensioned to establish a second sealing relationship with a second gas turbine engine component. A method of assembly is also disclosed.
