Wastegate assembly
A wastegate assembly for controlling flow of exhaust gas includes a valve element having a valve body and a valve shaft. The wastegate assembly further includes a spindle having a head defining an opening and including a flat surface. The wastegate assembly further includes a washer coupled to the valve shaft and spaced from the spindle for securing the spindle to the valve shaft. The washer defines a bottom washer surface facing the flat surface of the spindle head, with the bottom washer surface including a flat region and a beveled region. A biasing member is disposed between the flat surface of the spindle and the flat and beveled regions of the washer. The beveled region extends oblique relative to the flat region for minimizing contact between the washer and the biasing member beyond the flat region.
TURBOCHARGER HAVING AN ACTUATOR-ACTUATED ADJUSTING DEVICE AND A TRANSMISSION ELEMENT WITH ONE-PART COMPONENT BODY
A turbocharger for a combustion engine has an adjusting device for matching its operating behavior to the operating behavior of the combustion engine, an actuating actuator, and a transmission element. The transmission element is coupled between the actuating actuator and the adjusting device. The transmission element has a one-part component body, which in each case extends from a first coupling point to a second coupling point along a longitudinal axis and, in each of its end regions, has a coupling element for coupling to the actuating actuator and to the adjusting device. The respective coupling element is designed as an integral part of the component body in the form of a ball receptacle of a ball joint connection in the component body.
Wastegate set for turbocompressor and turbocompressor for internal combustion engines
A set for turbochargers of internal combustion engines, equipped with mechanical actuators and wastegate flip valve. The set includes in its interior a valve, a valve's arm, a valve's shaft and a bushing, all of which are housed inside a metal casing. The set allows the replacement of the valve and its accessory components way before the end of the turbocharger's life span. Also, a turbocharger adapted for the set, which is provided with an accommodation zone including a bore and a series of fixing gantries cooperating with elements in the face of the set.
TURBOCHARGER HAVING ADJUSTABLE-TRIM CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR INCLUDING AIR INLET WALL HAVING CAVITIES FOR SUPPRESSION OF NOISE AND FLOW FLUCTUATIONS
A compressor for a turbocharger includes an inlet-adjustment mechanism in an air inlet for the compressor, operable to move between an open position and a closed position in the air inlet. The compressor housing upstream of the inlet-adjustment mechanism defines a series of acoustic cavities, and openings are defined in the compressor housing wall leading into the acoustic cavities. The openings and cavities are aimed at mitigating noise and flow pulsation in the air inlet caused when the inlet-adjustment mechanism is adjusted to the closed position to effectively reduce the inlet diameter approaching the compressor wheel.

Bleed-off valve drive controller for aircraft gas turbine engine
In an aircraft gas turbine engine equipped with a bleed-off valve that bleeds intake air compressed by a compressor exterior and an electric actuator that drives the valve when current is supplied, a required valve opening θr and a current value Ia corresponding thereto are calculated and Ia is supplied to the actuator to bring valve opening θ to the required opening θr. Then Ia is compared with a current value Ib and if Ia exceeds 1b, the valve is estimated to have failed and another current value Ic is calculated and Ic is supplied to enlarge valve opening toward wide-opening θw. Then a current value Id is calculated and supplied to decrease valve opening toward θr. Next, Id is compared with Ib and the valve is determined normal when Id is equal to or smaller than 1b. If not, it is determined to be faulty.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A SYSTEM FOR ACTUATING A COMPONENT OF A TURBOMACHINE
The present invention concerns a method for monitoring an actuating system of a movable component, in particular a movable component of a turbomachine such as a nozzle or a blade, the actuating system comprising a control device configured to deliver a position instruction to a first cylinder and a second cylinder, each cylinder being configured to deliver a position feedback measurement in response to the position instruction, the method being implemented in a monitoring system and comprising, —a first monitoring mode in which the deviations between the position feedback measurements of the two cylinders are detected; —a second monitoring mode in which the deviations between the position feedback measurements of the two cylinders are not detected; method in which the second mode is selected when at least one of the two position feedback measurements is in a transient phase.
Variable-flow-rate valve mechanism and turbocharger
A clearance δ between an inner peripheral surface of an attachment hole of an attachment tongue and an outer peripheral surface of a valve shaft is set to be smaller than an allowable displacement amount λ in an axial direction of a valve with respect to the attachment tongue. When a condition is satisfied in which the outer peripheral surface of the valve shaft comes into contact with a front-side periphery and a back-side periphery of the attachment hole of the attachment tongue, and in which a top surface of a valve body comes into contact with a back surface of the attachment tongue, a waste gate valve is constituted so that a metal washer becomes non-contact with a front surface of the attachment tongue.
Passive bleed valves with adjustable pressure threshold
A bleed valve includes a housing with an inlet coupled to an outlet by a duct, a guide tube with an orifice fixed in the housing between the inlet and the outlet, a piston, and baffle. The piston is slideably supported on the guide tube and is movable between an open and a closed position, the duct fluidly coupling the inlet and outlet in the open position, the duct fluidly separating the inlet and outlet in the closed position. The orifice fluidly couples the inlet and outlet in the open and closed positions to move piston between the open and closed positions according to differential pressure between the bleed valve inlet and outlet. The baffle is slideably supported by the guide tube to set the differential pressure at which the piston moves between the open and closed positions. Gas turbines and differential pressure adjustment methods are also described.
