Machine foam cleaning system with integrated sensing
A machine is cleaned by directing a foam detergent into the machine to remove contaminants from inside the machine. An effluent portion of the foam detergent exits from the machine with some of the contaminants. One or more of a turbidity, a salinity, an amount of total dissolved solids, or a concentration the contaminants in the effluent is measured. A cleaning time period during which the foam detergent is to be directed into the machine is determined based on the turbidity, the salinity, the amount of total dissolved solids, and/or the contaminant concentration that is measured from the effluent. The foam detergent continues to be directed into the machine during the cleaning time period, and the flow of the foam detergent into the machine is terminated on expiration of the time period.
System and method for cleaning deposit from a component of an assembled, on-wing gas turbine engine
Systems and methods for cleaning deposits from a component of an assembled, on-wing gas turbine engine are provided. Accordingly, the method includes operably coupling a delivery assembly to an annular inlet of a core gas turbine engine. A portion of cleaning fluid is atomized with the delivery assembly to develop a cleaning mist having a plurality of atomized droplets. The atomized droplets are suspended within any path of the core gas turbine engine from the annular inlet to an axial position downstream of a compressor of the core gas turbine engine. A portion of the cleaning mist is impacted or precipitated onto the component so as to wet the component, and a portion of the deposits on the component is dissolved by the cleaning mist.
System and method for fuel nozzle cleaning during engine operation
A method and system for cleaning a fuel nozzle during engine operation is provided. Operations include operating the compressor section to provide the flow of oxidizer at a first oxidizer flow condition to the combustion chamber, wherein the first oxidizer flow condition comprises an environmental parameter; operating the fuel system at a first fuel flow condition to produce a fuel-oxidizer ratio at the combustion chamber; comparing the environmental parameter to a first environmental parameter threshold; and transitioning the fuel system to a second fuel flow condition corresponding to a cleaning condition at the fuel nozzle if the environmental parameter is equal to or greater than the first environmental threshold.
INSTALLATION AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING THE TURBINE STATORS OF A TURBINE
An installation for pre-assembling the turbine stators of a turbine each formed of several juxtaposed sectors, includes: an input carriage for conveying sectors intended to form the turbine stators. Each sector includes side faces provided with slots and being associated with a given turbine stator; an output carriage having various trays, each associated with a turbine stator; an automated device for inserting sealing pads configured to interact with a sector conveyed by an automated convey pallet, comprising a robot arm for inserting sealing pads into the slots in a side face of the sector; and another robot arm for gripping a sector equipped with pads from a pallet and depositing it on the tray associated with the turbine stator to pre-assemble the turbine stator.
VALVE DEVICE AND VALVE LID
A valve device includes: a valve box in which an inlet flow passage into which steam flows and an outlet flow passage through which the steam flows are formed, and in which a valve chamber that connects the inlet flow passage and the outlet flow passage is formed; and a plurality of valve bodies configured to regulate a flow rate of the steam flowing through the outlet flow passage by relative movement to the outlet flow passage. The valve box includes a valve box main body in which the inlet flow passage, the outlet flow passage, and an opening portion are formed, a lid portion that is attachable to and detachable from the valve box main body and closes the opening portion, and a cleaning nozzle that is disposed to penetrate through the lid portion and is configured to supply a cleaning liquid into the valve chamber from the outside.
Engine component
A combustion engine component is disclosed. The combustion engine component comprises a body that includes a first surface in operative thermal communication with a hot combustion gas, and a second surface in operative fluid communication with a cooling fluid. Also, as disclosed in greater detail below, the second surface includes a first surface contour feature configured to increase a contact angle of a liquid on the second surface.
POWER WITHDRAWAL FROM A LP BODY AND SYSTEM FOR REMOVING DEBRIS
The invention concerns a bypass turbomachine (1) with a primary flow path and a secondary flow path, comprising: —a low-pressure body comprising a low-pressure compressor (120) connected to a low-pressure turbine (122) via a low-pressure shaft (124), —a high-pressure body comprising a high-pressure compressor (130) connected to a high pressure turbine (132), via a high-pressure shaft (134), —a low-pressure power take-off system (220) comprising an electrical generator (226), configured to take power (W12) from the low-pressure body, wherein—the turbomachine comprises a debris removal system (500), located between the two compressors (226, 236), —the low-pressure power take-off system (220) is configured to take power (W12) from the low-pressure shaft (124) using the resistive torque of the electrical generator (226), in order to avoid a risk of surging.
CONTAMINATION ACCUMULATION MODELING
A wash optimization system and related methods are provided that increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of engine washes. A system comprising at least one processor receives sensor data representing one or more measured parameters of a turbine engine and determines at least one performance parameter based on the sensor data. The at least one performance parameter represents one or more particulate values associated with the turbine engine. The system generates a health state for the turbine engine based on the at least one performance parameter and generates a wash identifier based on the health state of the turbine engine.
TURBINE EXHAUST DRAIN SYSTEM
A turbine exhaust drain system has a sump where liquid collects and a suction pipe having an inlet end fluidly connected to the sump and an outlet end fluidly connected to a core gas path of a turbine exhaust case. In use, the combustion gases flowing through the exhaust case creates a venturi effect to draw the liquid from the sump into the core gas path where the liquid and the combustions gases combine into a mixed flow before being discharged through an outlet end of the exhaust case.
