METHOD FOR INHALATION EFFECT ON THE BODY, AND APPARATUS FOR IMPLEMENTING SAME
The invention allows for considerably improving the efficiency of inhalation treatment of various diseases and conditions in pulmonology, therapy, intensive treatment, anesthesiology, and sports medicine and is provided with new integral technical solutions while employing the opportunities of microelectronic technology and modern components. A modular structure of the apparatus simplifies its manufacture, ensures the ease of setting it up, and operation in various operating modes. When using the invention, monitoring of the ventilation indicators and patient condition with achieving his high safety level may be ensured; in sports medicine a problem of rehabilitation and training of athletes with the background of extreme loads and increased ventilation indicators is solved.
Ventilator
A ventilator is configured to supply a gas mixture to the lungs of a subject. The gas mixture comprises a first gas (e.g. oxygen) and a second gas (e.g. ambient air). The ventilator comprise a first gas inlet, a second gas inlet, flow modulator of the first gas, a flow modulator of the second gas, a junction configured to mix the first gas and the second gas, a patient interface configured to deliver the gas mixture to a subject, a pressure sensor, a plurality of flow sensors comprising at least a first flow sensor and a second flow sensor, and at least one controller configured for obtaining data from the pressure sensor and flow sensors and controlling the flow modulators to provide a gas mixture having a target pressure and a target oxygen content.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CARBON MONOXIDE ATMOSPHERE STORED BLOOD COMPONENTS
A system, apparatus, and method using carbon monoxide for treatment of platelets, and optionally other blood components and/or whole blood, allowing extended storage and increased viability of the stored blood platelets in vivo. The system allows an efficient use of the stored platelets by dividing the platelets into a population with a short residual lifetime for immediate use and a population that can remain in storage for longer. The storage apparatus enables safe platelet preservation and is equipped with an alarm to detect CO leakage.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ADMINISTERING SUBSTANCES TO A BODY CAVITY BY HETEROGENOUS AEROSOLIZATION
The present invention provides means and methods for delivering a predetermined volume of a substance, within at least one body cavity of a subject, comprising a predefined volume for containing the predetermined volume of the at least one substance; a delivery end for placement in proximity to the body cavity; the delivery end comprises at least one orifice of diameter D [mm]; a valve mechanically connectable to the container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which the valve enables delivery of predetermined volume V.sub.sub [ml] of the substance; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which the valve prevents delivery of the predetermined volume V.sub.sub [ml] of the substance from the container to the body cavity; and a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V.sub.gas [ml] of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P.sub.gas [barg].
GAS MIXTURES CONTAINING LOW CONCENTRATIONS OF XENON AND ARGON PROVIDE NEUROPROTECTION WITHOUT INHIBITING THE CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF THROMBOLYTIC AGENTS
The present invention relates to low concentration synergistic Xenon-Argon gas mixtures argon for use in a method for preventing and/or treating ischemic insults, whereinthe volume proportion of xenon is between 5 and 20%;the volume proportion of argon is between 5 and 20%; andthe pharmaceutical composition further comprises a gas complement to reach 100% volume proportion;the method includes comprises restoration of blood flow and the gas mixture is administered to the patient before, during, or after blood flow restoration.

Canister and valve
A canister for a metered dose inhaler has high and low pressure chambers for a propellant and for an inhalable drug and vaporised propellant. The low pressure chamber has an opening for a metering valve. A pressure regulating valve is between the high and low pressure chambers and provides a flow path from them. A metering valve dispenses a metered dose. The valve includes a metering valve body having a propellant metering chamber with a propellant inlet and a product metering chamber with a product inlet, and a metering valve stem with a dispensing nozzle, a propellant inlet plug and a product inlet plug. The metering valve stem moves to a dispensing position. In the dispensing position, the propellant and product metering chambers are in fluid communication with atmosphere via the dispensing nozzle of the metering valve stem such that a metered dose of product and propellant can be dispensed.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING GAS COMPOSITION IN A SURGICAL CAVITY DURING ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL PROCEDURES
A method for controlling gas composition in a surgical cavity during an endoscopic surgical procedure includes monitoring for a plurality of gas species in a gas flow from a surgical cavity of a patient. The method includes measuring the plurality of gas species in the gas flow from the surgical cavity and determining if the gas species measured in the gas flow from the surgical cavity are each present and/or within a respective desired range. The method includes adding gas into the surgical cavity if one or more gas species in the plurality of gas species is outside of the respective desired range so as to bring a composition of gas species in the surgical cavity within the respective desired range.
INGESTIBLE COMPOSITIONS SYSTEM AND METHOD
The ingestible compositions system includes the co-production of orally-ingestible compositions usable as inhalable respiratory agents including delivery apparatus and related methods. The invention comprises a healthy alternative delivery system to smoking. THC/CBD fits like a key in a lock into CB1 and CB2 receptors. The H2O solution (with THC/CBD) can also be consumed orally for a slight euphoric effect. As designed, the present invention can be useful in treating cancers, acute ischemic neurological insults or chronic neurodegenerative diseases, Crohn's disease, Lupus, and PTSD, but is not limited to just the mentioned diseases/ailments.
