MEDICINAL AGENT (EMBODIMENTS) AND DEVICE FOR USING SAME
The inventions are intended for stopping or slowing the progression of the acute phase of ischemic stroke, coronary failure and respiratory failure, and for saving injured and wounded persons suffering from heavy blood loss. A medicinal agent according to a first embodiment contains from 40 to 50 vol % helium, from 25 to 35 vol % argon, from 0.2 to 5 vol % xenon, from 2 to 10 vol % krypton, and not less than 21 vol % oxygen, to a total of 100 vol %, and the temperature of the gas mixture is 30-70 C. A medicinal agent according to a second embodiment contains from 21 to 60 vol % oxygen, from 0.2 to 35 vol % xenon, from 0.2 to 35 vol % krypton, or from 21 to 60 vol % oxygen, xenon in a concentration range of from 0.2 to 35 vol %, from 0.2 to 35 vol % krypton, and the remainder argon in an amount of not less 25 vol %, and the temperature of the gas is 15-70 C. The claimed device is characterized by a mask 1 connected to a breathing bag 7 and to a canister 12 containing an argon-xenon-krypton gas mixture, with a three-way valve for alternately supplying gases to the breathing bag 7, the device being further equipped with a canister 9 containing a helium-oxygen-argon-xenon-krypton gas mixture and having a valve mounted thereon with a manometer that is connected to the mask to permit a supply of the gas mixture directly into the mask 1, and a chemical or electric heater 11 with a connecting heat exchange line.
DEVICE TO DELIVER A PREDETERMINED AMOUNT OF A SUBSTANCE TO A NATURAL ORIFICE OF THE BODY
A device for delivering a predetermined amount of at least one substance to a body orifice of a subject includes a) a container for containing said at least one substance; b) a delivery end for placement in proximity to the orifice, the delivery end being in fluid communication with the container; c) a valve mechanically connectable to said container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which said valve enables delivery of predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice via said delivery end; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which said valve prevents delivery of said predetermined amount of said substance from said container to said body orifice; d) a trigger mechanism adapted to reconfigure said valve from said INACTIVE CONFIGURATION to said ACTIVE CONFIGURATION, and vice versa; and e) a fluid tight chamber.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ADMINISTERING SUBSTANCES TO A BODY CAVITY BY HETEROGENOUS AEROSOLIZATION
The present invention provides means and methods for delivering a predetermined volume of a substance, within at least one body cavity of a subject, comprising a predefined volume for containing the predetermined volume of the at least one substance; a delivery end for placement in proximity to the body cavity; the delivery end comprises at least one orifice of diameter D [mm]; a valve mechanically connectable to the container, characterized by at least two configurations: (i) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which the valve enables delivery of predetermined volume V.sub.sub [ml] of the substance; and, (ii) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which the valve prevents delivery of the predetermined volume V.sub.sub [ml] of the substance from the container to the body cavity; and a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V.sub.gas [ml] of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P.sub.gas [barg].
