SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXPANDING FLOW IN A WASTE HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM
A waste heat recovery system includes a first heat exchanger, a second heat exchanger, and an expander. The first heat exchanger receives working fluid from a first portion of a first loop and provides the working fluid to a second portion of the first loop. The second heat exchanger receives the working fluid from a first portion of a second loop and provides the working fluid to a second portion of the second loop. The expander provides the working fluid to a first portion of a common line. The expander includes a stator. The stator includes a first inlet and a second inlet. The common line provides the working fluid to both the first loop and the second loop upstream of the first portion of the first loop and upstream of the first portion of the second loop.
POWER PRODUCTION WITH COGENERATION OF FURTHER PRODUCTS
The present disclosure relates to cogeneration of power and one or more chemical entities through operation of a power production cycle and treatment of a stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen. A cogeneration process can include carrying out a power production cycle, providing a heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen, cooling the heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen against at least one stream in the power production cycle so as to provide heating to the power production cycle, and carrying out at least one purification step so as to provide a purified stream comprising predominately hydrogen. A system for cogeneration of power and one or more chemical products can include a power production unit, a syngas production unit, one or more heat exchange elements configured for exchanging heat from a syngas stream from the syngas production unit to a stream from the power production unit, and at least one purifier element configured to separate the syngas stream into a first stream comprising predominately hydrogen and a second stream.
POWER GENERATION FACILITY
A power generation facility in an embodiment includes: a boiler; a high-pressure turbine to which steam generated in the boiler is introduced; a low-pressure turbine provided downstream of the high-pressure turbine; and a condenser that condenses steam discharged from the low-pressure turbine. The power generation facility further includes: a feed pipe that leads feedwater in the condenser to the boiler; a heat storage and steam generation device that has a heat storage function that uses surplus energy generated in an own system to store heat, and a steam generation function that has part of feedwater led by the feed pipe introduced thereinto and turns the feedwater into steam by the stored heat; and a steam supply pipe that supplies steam generated in the heat storage and steam generation device to an own system.

Mass management system for a supercritical working fluid circuit
Provided herein is a heat engine system and a method for transforming energy, such as generating mechanical energy and/or electrical energy from thermal energy. The heat engine system may have one of several different configurations of a mass management system (MMS) fluidly coupled to a working fluid circuit. The MMS may be utilized to control the amount of working fluid added to, contained within, or removed from the working fluid circuit. The MMS may contain a mass control tank, an inventory transfer line, and system/tank transfer valves. The MMS may contain a transfer pump fluidly coupled to the inventory transfer line and configured to control the pressure in the inventory transfer line. The MMS may have two or more transfer lines, such as an inventory return line and valve, and an inventory supply line and valve.
Mass management system for a supercritical working fluid circuit
Provided herein is a heat engine system and a method for transforming energy, such as generating mechanical energy and/or electrical energy from thermal energy. The heat engine system may have one of several different configurations of a mass management system (MMS) fluidly coupled to a working fluid circuit. The MMS may be utilized to control the amount of working fluid added to, contained within, or removed from the working fluid circuit. The MMS may contain a mass control tank, an inventory transfer line, and system/tank transfer valves. The MMS may contain a transfer pump fluidly coupled to the inventory transfer line and configured to control the pressure in the inventory transfer line. METHOD FOR PROCESSING A LIQUID MEDIUM AND PROCESSING PLANT
A method for processing a liquid medium, wherein the medium to be processed is conducted through a liquid circuit and the medium to be processed is heated up in the liquid circuit with the aid of a heat exchanger. A liquid-vapor separation process is carried out in a separating device, and a liquid obtained in the liquid-vapor separation process is conducted into the heat exchanger as a heating medium.
