Vacuum Chamber with Snap Fit Plunger Mechanism
20220305189 · 2022-09-29 · ·

A drainage system includes a vacuum chamber to receive drainage liquid from a drainage tube. The chamber can include an input port coupled with the drainage tube and a drain port coupled with a collection container. The system can include an air pump having an input coupled with a vacuum port of the vacuum chamber and a distal end of the drainage tube. Activation of the air pump can establish circulating fluid flow between the drainage tube and the vacuum chamber, and deactivation of the air pump can permit drainage liquid to drain from the vacuum chamber into the output tube. Also disclosed is a method of draining liquid from a patient, including accumulating a volume of the drainage liquid at a first location along a drainage pathway, moving the volume to a second location, accumulating the volume at the second location, and moving the volume to a collection container.

FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING A COMPRESSIBLE SUCTION DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS

Examples relate to fluid collection systems and methods of use of the system. The fluid collection system may include a fluid collection device configured to receive fluid discharged from a user, a fluid collection container in fluid communication with the fluid collection device configured to collect the fluid and a suction device in fluid communication with the fluid collection device and the fluid collection container. The suction device is compressible and configured to draw fluid from the fluid collection device into the fluid collection container solely responsive to mechanical actuation of the suction device.

Negative Pressure Therapy System

A negative pressure therapy system is provided for inducing negative pressure in a portion of a urinary tract, the system including: (a) at least one ureteral catheter configured to be positioned within a ureter and/or kidney; (b) one or more sensor(s) configured to determine information about at least one of blood composition, blood flow, respiration, heart rate, glucose, protein, or creatinine; and (c) a controller configured to increase urine production by adjusting one or more operating parameters of a negative pressure source for inducing negative pressure through the at least one ureteral catheter into the urinary tract, based at least in part upon the information determined by the one or more sensor(s).

Catheter with ring-shaped drainage member

A catheter (24) and catheter assembly (22) having a drainage member (46), defining a generally ring-shaped opening (48).

AUTOMATIC FLUID DRAINAGE DEVICE

An improved urine collection bag assembly is presented. The improved urine collection bag assembly of the present invention features a one-way flow control valve to prevent the backflow of urine into a urinary catheter and subsequently, into a patient's bladder. The improved urine collection bag also features at a lower end a urine sampling valve. In the exemplary embodiment, the one-way flow control valve is a flap style valve and the sampling valve is a slider style valve.

URINARY CATHETER DRAINAGE MEMBERS AND CATHETERS HAVING THE SAME AND METHODS OF FORMING CATHETERS

A catheter drainage member (112) configured to be attached to a catheter tube (116), the drainage member comprising: body (115) having an inner surface (114); a well (120) defined by the inner surface of the body, the well configured to receive the catheter tube and an adhesive (122); and wherein the well is configured to selectively distribute the adhesive between the inner surface and the tube.

Medical diagnostic system and method

A medical diagnostic system is provided to automate analysis of samples to predict a medical condition, such as pregnancy or chronic kidney disease. The system may provide test strip usage automation. The medical diagnostic system may include a sample collection component, collection cup contamination protection mechanism, sample volume control component, test strip reader component, which may be manifested as a lateral flow strip reader, flow reader, sample analytic component, data processing component, data communication component, networked data management component, and device cleaning mechanism. A method to automate analysis of samples to predict a medical condition using the medical diagnostic system is also provided.

External female catheter system with integrated suction regulator

A system and method for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The system includes an integrated external catheter and suction regulator unit. The external catheter is applied at the female's urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female. The suction regulator is connected to a receptacle for collecting the urine and is operative to regulate suction applied to the canister from a hospitals' suction line to a regulated value which is applied the external female catheter, whereupon urine from the external female catheter is carried by the regulated suction through the suction regulator and into the receptacle. The external catheter includes an internal suction tube and an external removable and replaceable liquid permeable cover located on the internal suction tube. The external catheter is malleable so that it can be conformed to the anatomy of the female.
