Use of edible-oil-processing spent bleaching earth in formulating poultry and livestock feed products
11517030 · 2022-12-06 ·

The present invention provides a novel method for disposing of spent bleaching earth that is economically beneficial and avoids the problems typically associated with its disposal. By adding fine-particle lime (calcium carbonate) to the spent bleaching earth discharged from the process filters, spontaneous combustion can be eliminated. The material can then be transported in solid form to a production facility for use as a nutritious ingredient in making a wide range of feed products for poultry and livestock.

FOOD AND ADDITIVE COMPOSITIONS, AND ALSO USES OF LIGNIN AND THE ADDITIVE COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a food composition comprising lignin as a food additive, to a food composition comprising an additive composition which in turn comprises lignin, to an additive composition comprising lignin, as well as to the uses of lignin and the additive composition.

Also disclosed are benefits of the food composition comprising lignin or comprising an additive composition comprising lignin for animals as well as for products derived thereof.

Use of fat compositions for sustaining an enhanced palatability of pet food over time

The present invention concerns the use of a fat composition for sustaining an enhanced palatability of a food for pet over time, wherein said fat composition has a C12:0/C10:0 fatty acid weight ratio from about 0.85 to about 2.5 and/or a C14:0/C12:0 fatty acid weight ratio from about 0.45 to about 4.3. The present invention further concerns the use of said fat composition for preparing other enhanced palatability-sustaining fat compositions as well as foods for pet, all compositions and foods having an enhanced palatability sustained over time.

Animal feed formed meat composition with prey animal nutriment and process for producing an animal feed formed meat slug with prey animal nutriment
11503843 · 2022-11-22 ·

Proposed is a formed meat composition comprising additives, a process for producing a formed meat slug and a combined meat/formed meat slug. It is a disadvantage of established dried formed meat compositions that they require stabilizing desiccants and/or have an unnatural, open-pored fine structure. The novel solution proposed is a formed meat composition which, in addition to prey animal meat, glycerol and salt, merely contains additives in the form of prey animal nutriment. Also proposed is a process for producing a formed meat slug in which a common comminution of meat and additives in a manner modelled on hunting is carried out. Finally proposed is a combined meat/formed meat slug which comprises in its primary constituents only animal meat ingredients and the recited additives. The claimed subject matter provides the particular advantage that, despite additives, a denser, more stable and closed fine structure is achieved.
