APPARATUSES FOR CLEANING CATHETER PORTS
Methods and apparatus for cleaning a central venous catheter port are disclosed. An apparatus includes a body, a coupling configured to connect the body to the hub, a cleaning cap coupled to the body, and an actuator disposed within the body for rotating and translating the cap relative to the hub. The cleaning cap includes a cap body defining a cavity and a cleaning member disposed within the cavity, the cleaning member having threads that engage with the threads on the hub.
Tamper Resistant and Medical Connector Device
The tamper resistant medical connector device 10 includes an inner luer cap 30 for threaded sealing engagement with a standard luer SL or PICC line inlet port 14. The inner luer cap is surrounded and enclosed by an outer cap first half component 52 adjacent the inlet port 14, and an outer cap second half component 60 secured to the outer cap first half component to form a unified outer cap 50, and having an cap stem 70 engaged with the inner luer cap 30, on an end of the inner luer cap opposite the inlet port. The cap stem 70 is partially surrounded and enclosed by the outer cap second half 60. Once the threads 32 of the inner luer cap 30 are in threaded engagement with the inlet port, the tamper resistant device 10 resists removal as the outer cap spins freely when rotated in a reverse direction. An unlocking key 100 is used to disengage the tamper resistant device 10 for authorized access to the inlet port 14.
Vaporizer configuration, control, and reporting
A personal vapor inhaling unit including a microprocessor, memory, and a wireless communication interface is disclosed. An application may control aspects of the personal vapor via the wireless interface. An electronic flameless vapor inhaler unit that may simulate a cigarette has a cavity that receives a cartridge in the distal end of the inhaler unit. The cartridge brings a substance to be vaporized in contact with a wick. When the unit is activated, and the user provides suction, the substance to be vaporized is drawn out of the cartridge, through the wick, and is atomized by the wick into a cavity containing a heating element. The heating element vaporizes the atomized substance. The vapors then continue to be pulled by the user through a mouthpiece and mouthpiece cover where they may be inhaled.
Septum for access port
A medical device comprising an implantable subcutaneous access port having a septum penetrable by a needle; the septum having a cavity located between an outer wall and an inner wall, the cavity containing a flowable media comprising a plurality of displaceable particles arranged to move in response to the needle being inserted through the outer wall and into the cavity and reposition around the needle.
SKIN-CONTACT PRODUCT HAVING MOISTURE AND MICROCLIMATE CONTROL
Skin-contact products with a transpiration function such as medical devices or medicinal products, of which face masks, aspirators, ventilators, breast pumps or wound dressings are examples are described especially a skin-contact product with a transpiration function with an improved microclimate at a patient interface material-skin contact area. In an embodiment a material system is described that comprises a hydrophobic silicone base material and a hydrophilic silicone material that is combined with the hydrophobic base material.
RELATING TO A RESPIRATORY DEVICE
A breathing treatment apparatus delivers breathing gas to a user. The apparatus may be configured to comprise one or more sensors for sensing microbial growth within the apparatus.
Catheter securement device
A device for securing a catheter, or similar flexible medical tube or medical device to the skin of a patient. The device comprises a planar body (1) at least a lock retainer (5) and a passive retainer (6), both spaced-apart from each other. Furthermore a method of securing a catheter to a patient using a device as described.
Medical device for constipation prevention, coprostasis removal and good bowel movement
A medical device includes: a hollow body part formed in a predetermined bent shape; a head part provided at a tip portion thereof with a discharge port for discharging cleaning water and detachably coupled to a front end of the body part; a connection part connected to a shower hose and a rear end of the body part and provided with a control valve for controlling water supply, a water flow rate and a water pressure; a water purification tube built in the body part and provided with leakage preventing grilles at both ends thereof; and a purified water discharge part provided inside the head part and configured to remove foreign substances in the water by using a filter.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING SPREAD OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE
Disclosed herein are personal protection equipment systems which provide improved protection from infectious agents, and can be constructed and distributed in high volume during public health crises, such as global pandemics where supplies become limited and bioterrorism events where public panic and uncertainty can provide additional obstacles to conventional protective measures. Methods of implementing protective equipment are also disclosed herein. The protective biohazard equipment disclosed herein can be made in a short amount of time at a low cost using readily available materials.
IMMERSIVE DISTRACTION THERAPY
Disclosed herein is an immersive distraction apparatus including an attachment portion including an engagement element and a front plate having two cut outs fitting lenses therein and a base portion coupled with the attachment portion having a display aperture sized to receive a device. The immersive distraction apparatus mountable on a surgical head frame using one or more connectors such that an immersive distraction therapy can be provided to a patient undergoing surgery via a virtual reality environment.
