Vehicular electric oil pump device
In an electric oil pump device including a drive power source and a gear device through which a vehicle drive force of the drive power source is transmitted, the electric oil pump device delivering a lubricant oil to the gear device, and generating a hydraulic pressure for controlling the gear device, a pump portion for delivering the lubricant oil, a motor portion for operating the pump portion, and a driver portion for controlling an operation of the motor portion are included. The pump portion, motor portion and driver portion are formed integrally with each other, or the driver portion is disposed adjacent to the motor portion. The pump portion and a part or an entirety of the motor portion are disposed within a space defined by an oil pan and a casing accommodating the gear device, and the driver portion is disposed outside the casing and the oil pan.
Oil supply device
An oil supply device configured to supply oil to a turbocharger of an engine includes a first oil pump, a second oil pump, a first valve, and a second valve. The first oil pump is coupled to a bearing unit of the turbocharger via an oil supply path, and configured to supply oil to the bearing unit. The second oil pump is coupled to the bearing unit via an oil discharge passage, and configured to suck oil from the bearing unit. The first valve is provided in the oil supply path. The first valve is switchable from a connected state to a disconnected state when the engine is to be stopped. The second valve is provided in the oil discharge passage. The second valve is switchable from a connected state to a disconnected state when the engine is to be stopped.

System and method for diagnosing a variable oil pump
Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing variable oil pump degradation. In one example, a method may include cranking an engine with a motor and monitoring the motor current draw from a battery during cranking. The method may indicate degradation of a variable oil pump coupled to the engine by comparing the motor current draw with a baseline current level.

Lubrication strategy for dry run pump system
A gerotor pump assembly, and a system and method for operating a gerotor pump assembly, result in a lubrication strategy for operating in a loss-of-prime mode. An inner drive gear may be rotated in a first direction and in a second opposite direction about an axis of rotation. The inner drive gear has a number of projections extending outwardly therefrom. An outer driven gear surrounds the inner drive gear and defines a number of recessions along an inner surface configured to engage with the projections of the inner drive gear. The outer driven gear and the inner drive gear further define at least one dynamically-changing fluid cavity therebetween. The inner drive gear and the outer driven gear define an oil transfer volume clearance between a projection and a recession in a fully engaged position. Oil is maintained within the oil transfer volume clearance as the inner drive gear is rotated.
MULTI-PASSAGE OIL DEBRIS MONITOR TO INCREASE DETECTION CAPABILITY IN HIGH OIL FLOW SYSTEMS
An oil debris monitoring sensor includes a multiple of passages within the housing, each of the multiple of passages surrounded by a set of coils to detect a particle. A method for determining a presence of a particle in a system includes a) installing a single sensor in-line with an oil flow path; b) communicating oil through a multiple of passages within the housing of the single sensor; c) detecting a particle through the single sensor; and d) isolating the particle to one of the multiple of passages within the sensor housing.

Engine variable oil pump diagnostic method
Methods and systems are provided for indicating degradation of a variable displacement oil pump. In one example, an engine method comprises indicating degradation of the oil pump based on a fuel usage change of the engine, responsive to a commanded change in displacement of the variable oil pump. In response to an indicated degradation, engine wear may be avoided and fuel economy may be improved by adjusting engine operation.
