A gas heater for a surgical gas delivery system is disclosed, which includes an elongated tubular body defining an interior flow passage having an inlet port for receiving insufflation gas from a gas source and an outlet port for delivering heated insufflation gas to an insufflation manifold, a dielectric support positioned within the interior flow passage of the tubular body, and a resistive element operatively associated with the dielectric support for heating insufflation gas flowing through the tubular body from the inlet port to the outlet port.
RECONFIGURABLE FLUID DISPLACEMENT APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF USE
Ventricular assist devices configured to be placed in a ventricle of a heart are described. In one embodiment, a ventricular assist device may include a pumping pouch. The pumping pouch may have an opening. The pumping pouch may be flexible, and may define an internal volume configured to fill with blood in through the opening. The ventricular assist device may also include a contraction element coupled to the contraction pouch. The contraction element may be capable of squeezing at least a portion of the pumping pouch to force at least a portion of the blood out through the opening. The ventricular assist device may also include a frame coupled to the pumping pouch. The frame may be configured to be coupled to a wall of the heart.
Devices for evaporation and inhalation of active agents
There is provided an inhalation device for delivering a deliverable agent in the form of an aerosol or vapour to a user. The device comprises a solid, porous carrier material having a defined porosity, and a deliverable agent located within the pores of the carrier material. The device is operable to heat the carrier material and vaporise the deliverable agent. Deliverable agents that may be delivered to the user include active pharmaceutical ingredients. Suitable materials for the porous carrier material include chemically bonded ceramic materials and geopolymeric materials.
METHOD OF FORMING AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH RETENTION MEDIUM
The method includes first providing a retention medium in a first element; coaxially aligning a plurality of elements, wrapping the coaxially aligned plurality of elements within a wrapper to form a portion of the aerosol-generating article, the plurality of elements including the first element, the aerosol-generating article having a first end and a second end, the second end being upstream from the first end based on an expected direction of airflow through the aerosol-generating article during normal operational use, second providing at least one capsule, the at least one capsule releasably containing a substrate, and inserting the at least one capsule within the first element, the retention medium being configured to retain the substrate after a release of the substrate from the at least one capsule, the retention medium being devoid of the substrate prior to the release of the substrate from the at least one capsule.

A cartridge for an aerosol-generating system is provided, including a liquid storage portion including a housing containing a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, the housing having an open end; and a heater assembly including: an electrical heating element configured to heat the substrate to form an aerosol, the heating element including a planar filament arrangement having one or more electrically conductive filaments, an electrically insulating substrate having a planar attachment face, the filament arrangement disposed on the planar attachment face, and connectors arranged at opposite ends of the heating element and forming two separate electrical contacts configured to apply power to the filament arrangement, at least a portion of the heater assembly is fluid-permeable, and the heater assembly is arranged over the open end of the housing.
Cartridge orientation for selection of a control function in a vaporization system
The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices comprising a power unit and a cartridge that is configured for engagement with the power unit. In particular, the cartridge can be configured for rotation about a longitudinal axis thereof so as to be insertable into a chamber of the power unit in a plurality of different orientations. Further, the aerosol delivery device can include processing circuitry that can be configured for detection of the cartridge orientation and execution of a control function assigned to the respective orientation.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INTRAOSSEOUS DENTAL ANESTHETIZATION
An intraosseous tack device is configured to puncture alveolar bone or other human or animal bone at a targeted site of the mouth or body to provide an access point for the delivery of local anesthesia or other medicament. The device includes a tack having a body portion and an elongate member extending from the body portion. The elongate member is formed as a solid structure configured for puncturing targeted bone. The invention relates to a blood pump. The blood pump comprises a flexible drive shaft guided in a catheter, a conveying element connected to the drive shaft in a distal region of the drive shaft, and a motor, wherein the motor has a stator and a rotor mounted such that it can move in the stator. The stator comprises a winding and the rotor comprises a rotor magnet. In addition, the drive shaft is connected to the rotor at a proximal end of the drive shaft. The stator and the rotor are nondetachably connected to one another, and form a gap with a ring-shaped cross-section, which is delimited by the rotor and the stator.

A device has a power source having a high voltage terminal and a low voltage terminal, an oil-free gas compressor, a first molecular sieve, multiple ionized gas generators, an outer metal pipe, an inner metal pipe, a dielectric insulating ceramic sheet, and a gas outlet pipe. The first molecular sieve is connected between the oil-free gas compressor and the ionized gas generators, and is capable of filtering out molecules in the gas except for oxygen. The outer metal pipe and the inner metal pipe are electrically connected to the low voltage terminal and the high voltage terminal respectively. The dielectric insulating ceramic sheet is mounted between the outer metal pipe and the inner metal pipe, and forms an ionizing space, which communicates with the ionizing space, with the outer metal pipe.
