A vehicle cooling device includes a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger. The first heat exchanger is a water-cooled intercooler that is configured to cool supercharged intake air. The second heat exchanger is a water-cooled EGR gas cooler that is configured to cool EGR gas. The first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger are arranged in series on a cooling water circuit such that cooling water flowing out of the first heat exchanger flows into the second heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger is arranged in a position relatively lower than a height position of the first heat exchanger when the cooling device has been installed in a vehicle. Due to this height difference, the cooling water in the second heat exchanger has high pressure, and boiling of the cooling water is suppressed.

Multi-function oil tank

An oil distribution system uses an oil storage container to contain an air/oil separation unit, a heat exchanger, and an oil reservoir. The functions of oil storage, air/oil separation, and cooling are integrated in the container. Hot aerated oil enters the container at an air/oil separation unit. The air/oil separator deposits hot de-aerated oil into the oil reservoir. The oil reservoir transfers hot de-aerated oil to conduits in a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses fuel to cool the oil and warm the fuel. Cooled de-aerated oil is provided to a mechanical device for lubrication and warmed fuel is provided to power an engine. The container may alternatively receive hot aerated oil into the conduits in the heat exchanger. Cooled aerated oil is delivered to the air/oil separation unit to deposit cooled de-aerated oil into the reservoir. Cooled de-aerated oil is pumped to a mechanical device to provide lubrication.

Engine lubrication system

An engine oil lubrication system includes an oil flow control baffle disposed in the sump of the oil pan. The baffle may be detachably mountable in the sump of the oil pan. The baffle may be configured to prevent oil returning to the sump from the engine from short-circuiting and flowing directly to the oil pump intake. The baffle creates a circuitous flow path which forces mixing of the returning oil before being drawn into the oil pump intake nozzle via increasing resonance time of the oil in the sump to enhance cooling. The present disclosure further provides a modular engine mounting system which extends the number of engines and vehicle chassis which can utilize a single oil pan to mount to the chassis. Interchangeable mounting flanges are provided having different bolting patterns compatible with the different chassis.

The retainer may have a cylindrical body comprising an elongated first flow protuberance insertably received through the oil treatment apparatus to establish fluid communication between the oil treatment apparatus and the first flow passageway of the dipstick tube. The retainer comprises a cavity through which oil may be added directly to the first flow passageway of the dipstick which may be fluidly coupled to an oil sump of the engine. The oil treatment apparatus may be an oil filter. An oil treatment additive may optionally be added to the housing.

A pump stage assembly including at least two pump suction stages and at least one pump pressure stage. The pump suction stages and the pump pressure stage are arranged spaced apart from one another in a pump housing PG and have a common drive shaft. The pump suction stages are formed by a first assembly of intermeshing external gearwheels that lie in a first plane, and the pump pressure stage is formed by a second assembly of intermeshing external gearwheels that lie in a second plane. A first delivery volume flow can be drawn in from a first region of a dry sump by a first pump suction stage, and a second delivery volume flow can be drawn in from a second region of the dry sump by a second pump suction stage. The two delivery volume flows intermix in the pump housing before they reach an oil tank.

Oil is received by a de-aerator (104) of the system (100) which supplies de-aerated oil to the upper tank portion (112). The waisted section (118) includes an upper face (119) configured to catch oil drips from above the waisted section (118) and to guide oil to a lower face (121) of the waisted section (118).

A propeller shaft is in the internal space of the torpedo portion. The rear end of the torpedo portion is forward of at least a portion of the exhaust passage as seen in a side view. The exhaust passage is connected to the exhaust inlet. The exhaust outlet communicates with the internal space of the torpedo section. The exhaust chamber communicates the exhaust inlet with the exhaust outlet.
