SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE INJECTION OF VISCOUS FLUIDS

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for the injection of viscous fluids. For example, inventive systems and methods for injecting viscous fluids, such as concentrated drug formulations, via droplet lubrication are described.

HEADGEAR WITH DIRECTIONAL ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM

This disclosure provides a directional adjustment unit for a headgear for a respiratory mask The directional adjustment unit provides an increased resistance to extension of one or more straps of the headgear when the headgear is under tensile forces, as compared to a lower resistance to retraction of the one or more headgear straps. The directional adjustment unit comprises a movable frictional engagement member comprising an aperture, wherein the aperture is arranged to receive a filament of a strap of the headgear therethrough, wherein the frictional engagement member in a first configuration provides a disengaged or pre-activated configuration with respect to the filament, and in a second configuration provides an engaged configuration with respect to the filament. Features are provided which improve the operation of such a directional adjustment unit. These features include features to help resist bending of the filament inside the directional adjustment unit, features to vary frictional engagement between the frictional engagement member and the filament, and features to reduce sticking of the frictional engagement member in a given position.

Apparatus and methods are provided for delivering fluids into a patient's body that includes a tubular member including a proximal end, a distal end sized for introduction into a patient's body, and a fluid delivery lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends; and a flexible pad on the distal end including a tissue contacting surface, a passage communicating with the fluid delivery lumen, and plurality of capillary channels in the tissue contact surface communicating with the passage, the capillary channels configured to deliver fluid from the fluid delivery lumen and passage to tissue contacted by the tissue contact surface.

PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGE FOR OPHTHALMIC FORMULATIONS

A liquid formulation of an ophthalmic drug in a pharmaceutical package, for example a syringe, cartridge, or vial, made in part or in whole of a thermoplastic polymer, coated on the interior with a tie coating or layer, a barrier coating or layer, a pH protective coating or layer, and optionally a lubricity coating or layer.

Pharmaceutical syringe piston

A piston to be provided within an inner wall of a barrel of a pharmaceutical syringe for dispensing medicament retained in the barrel is described. The piston includes a body defining a central face, a cylindrical portion, and an annular curved portion between the cylindrical portion and the central face portion. The piston also includes an inert film enclosing the central face portion and at least a part of the annular curved portion. The cylindrical portion and the part of the annular curved portion are together configured to maintain a fluid-tight seal with the inner wall of the barrel. A pharmaceutical syringe is described for dispensing a medicament includes a barrel configured to retain the medicament and the piston.

A suction device for use with a medical device may include a suction device body and an extension. The suction device body may include a first lumen positioned therein and including a plurality of holes. The extension may include a second lumen positioned therein and may be coupled to the suction device body and configured to facilitate connection of the suction device body to a suction line. The second lumen may be in communication with/open to the first lumen and the suction line may be adapted for connection to a pump configured to apply a negative pressure to the first and second lumens. The suction device may evacuate fluids and/or solids from a patient in an area proximate to the suction device.

Flexible tip catheter

In some examples, a catheter includes an elongated body comprising proximal and distal portions. The distal portion of the elongated body comprises an inner liner that includes a proximal liner section and a distal liner section that include different materials, and an outer jacket positioned over the inner liner. The distal liner section has a first hardness and the proximal liner section has a second hardness, where the first hardness is less than the second hardness.

Pharmaceutical container and liquid composition

A pharmaceutical container for drug delivery includes a barrel configured to slidably receive a stopper. The stopper has a proximal end suitable for contacting a plunger rod and a distal end suitable for contacting a pharmaceutical composition. The stopper has a circumferential surface partially contacting an inner surface of the barrel. A surface roughness of the inner surface of the barrel declines from the stopper's start position to its end position by at least 3% of at least one of Ra roughness or Rms roughness.
