A fluid heating pre-start system includes a fluid circuit. The fluid circuit includes a circulating pump, a heat exchanger, and a fluid jacket coupled to a piece of equipment. The pre-start system includes a heater positioned to heat the fluid in the fluid circuit using the heat exchanger. The pre-start system includes a controller positioned to control the operation of the fluid circuit and the heater. The pre-start system may be run until the piece of equipment is preheated to a desired temperature before the piece of equipment is activated.
Control method, controller, and control program for controlling lubricating system, computer-readable medium carrying control program, lubricating system, and vehicle
A lubricating system of an engine equipped with an idle reduction system includes an oil cooler, a remotely operable valve configured to open and close a bypass passage that bypasses the oil cooler, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to perform the steps of: controlling the valve so that a temperature of lubricating oil approaches a target temperature; and lowering the target temperature when an average torque of the engine is less than a predetermined threshold.
ENGINE CONTROL DEVICE
A device is provided, which controls a vehicle-mounted engine provided with an engine body with a plurality of cylinders, a plurality of independent intake passages, each connected to the engine body so as to communicate with a combustion chamber of each cylinder via an intake port, and a surge tank connected to an upstream end of each independent intake passage. The device includes a phase changer, an ambient temperature sensor, and a controller configured to acquire an amount of condensate water existing in the surge tank. When the engine is stopped in a situation where the ambient temperature is lower than a given reference temperature and the condensate water amount is above a given reference amount, the controller controls the phase changer so that a lift amount of an intake valve in each cylinder of the stopped engine becomes outside a given minute lift range.
INSTALLATION STRUCTURE FOR OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
There is provided an installation structure for an oil pressure sensor, including: a crankcase in which a main gallery that extends in one direction is formed; and the oil pressure sensor detachably installed on an outer surface of the crankcase. The oil pressure sensor is configured to detect an oil pressure of a branch passage branching from one end of the main gallery. In a bottom view of a vehicle, a connector of the oil pressure sensor is oriented to an outside of the vehicle, and the connector of the oil pressure sensor overlaps with the crankcase.
OILING DEVICE AND ABNORMALITY DETECTION METHOD OF THE SAME
An oiling device includes a passage system that circulates and feeds oil to an oiling object. A control unit includes a storage unit that has stored therein a first abnormality pressure set value that differs according to oiling temperature; the first abnormality pressure set value is set to a lower pressure as the oiling temperature is higher. The control unit executes an abnormal stop of the oiling object when an oiling pressure detected by an oiling pressure detecting unit is equal to or lower than the first abnormality pressure set value corresponding to an oiling temperature detected by an oiling temperature detecting unit.
DIAGNOSTIC METHOD FOR AN OIL PISTON COOLING JET VALVE, DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE, CONTROL UNIT, MOTOR VEHICLE
A diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve of an oil pressure system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, including: Driving the OPCJ valve for detecting oil pressure diagnostic data if multiple enabling conditions have been met, the multiple enabling conditions including: Presence of a stationary operation of the internal combustion engine; presence of a predetermined operating range; presence of an oil temperature within a predetermined oil temperature range; prevention of a scheduled driving of the OPCJ valve for regular piston cooling; and prevention of an error of the oil pressure system. The diagnostic method further including: Determining whether an oil pressure measuring point is within a predefined oil pressure measuring point range. The invention further relates to a diagnostic device, a control unit and a motor vehicle, which are each suitable or configured for carrying out the method.
CONTROLLER FOR MOTOR-DRIVEN OIL PUMP AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MOTOR-DRIVEN OIL PUMP
A controller controls a motor-driven oil pump of a vehicle. The vehicle includes an engine, a mechanical oil pump, a battery, a motor-driven oil pump driven by a driving voltage applied by the battery, and a hydraulic device. The controller includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry controls the driving voltage in a stop period during which the engine automatically stops and automatically restarts. The stop period includes a first period starting when the engine automatically stops and continuing until cranking starts and a second period starting when the cranking starts and continuing until the engine automatically restarts. The driving voltage in the first period is less than the driving voltage in the second period.
Methods and systems for diagnosing a clogged crankcase and for performing a crankcase clean out
Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing a clogged crankcase and performing a crankcase clean out. In one example, a method of operating an engine system including an engine includes measuring a crankcase pressure, and in response to the crankcase pressure increasing above a threshold pressure, determining a position of a clogged oil separator in a crankcase, and directing fluid to flow through the clogged oil separator and into the crankcase until a flow rate of the fluid through the clogged oil separator and into the crankcase increases above a threshold flow rate.
Method and Device for Inspecting the Functionality of a Crankcase Ventilation System of an Internal Combustion Engine
The disclosure relates to a method and a device for checking the functionality of a crankcase ventilation system of an internal combustion engine. The crankcase ventilation system includes two crankcase ventilation lines arranged between a crankcase outlet of a crankcase and an associated introduction point into an air path of the internal combustion engine, via which crankcase ventilation lines gas can be introduced from the crankcase into the air path. The method includes measuring a pressure in the crankcase, supplying the measured pressure values to a control unit, and calculating the gradient of the measured pressure. The method also includes performing a gradient check, checking whether the gradient satisfies a specified criterion, and returning to the measurement of the pressure if the gradient satisfies the specified criterion. The method also includes recording an entry in a fault memory if the gradient does not satisfy the specified criterion.
OIL TEMEPERATURE INCREASING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ECO-FRIENDLY VEHICLE
