The controller includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry controls the driving voltage in a stop period during which the engine automatically stops and automatically restarts. The stop period includes a first period starting when the engine automatically stops and continuing until cranking starts and a second period starting when the cranking starts and continuing until the engine automatically restarts. The driving voltage in the first period is less than the driving voltage in the second period.

The valve control unit controls an opening degree of the third valve when a downstream side of an intake manifold with respect to a throttle valve has a negative pressure, and the second valve is in a closed state. The leak diagnosis unit diagnoses presence or absence of a leak in the first PCV flow path on the basis of an inner pressure of the first PCV flow path measured by the pressure measurement unit.

Engine oil dilution control in automotive vehicles

Methods and systems are provided for controlling engine oil dilution in automotive vehicles. The method comprises heating coolant by operating an exhaust gas heat recovery device and circulating the heated coolant via a first coolant loop between the exhaust gas heat recovery device and a heat exchanger; and heating coolant by operating an exhaust gas recirculation cooler and circulating the heated coolant via a second coolant loop between the exhaust gas recirculation cooler and the heat exchanger, wherein the heated coolant from both the exhaust gas heat recovery device and the exhaust gas recirculation cooler mix at the heat exchanger and allows heating of an engine oil via the heat exchanger. In one example, the method prevents excessive accumulation of water and/or fuel in the engine oil.

A combination cooling/filtration device is for cooling and filtering lubricant in an outboard motor. The device includes a body; a lubricant cooler configured to cool the lubricant, the lubricant cooler having an inlet port that receives cooling fluid and an outlet port that discharges the cooling fluid; a filter configured to filter the lubricant; and a lubricant passage extending through the body. The lubricant passage is configured to convey the lubricant from upstream to downstream, and in particular to the lubricant cooler, then to the filter, and then to an engine of the outboard motor. The body is axially elongated from top to bottom, the filter is mounted on the top of the body, and the lubricant cooler is located in the body below the filter.

A method of controlling an oil pump of a vehicle includes: acquiring, by a controller, information on an engine operating state or a driving condition detected by a driving information detection part; determining, by the controller, whether a predetermined condition of an alternate mode is satisfied on the basis of the acquired information on the engine operating state or the driving condition; and, when the condition of the alternate mode is satisfied, sequentially performing, by the controller, a high-pressure operation control that controls an operation of an oil pump system so as to an oil pressure of an engine to converge on a predetermined target high-pressure value and a low-pressure operation control that controls the oil pressure of the engine to converge on a predetermined target low-pressure value.

LEAK DIAGNOSIS METHOD AND LEAK DIAGNOSIS DEVICE FOR BLOWBY GAS TREATMENT DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A blowby gas treatment device includes a pressure control valve, a fresh air induction pipe, a first blowby gas pipe, a second blowby gas pipe, a shutoff valve, a one-way valve, and a PCV valve. A leak diagnosis includes a first-stage diagnosis to determine whether or not falling of a pressure in a crank case after closing of the shutoff valve under a non-supercharging condition is normal. A second-stage diagnosis is implemented by moving the pressure control valve from a fully opened state into a fully closed state, and determining whether an intake air quantity in each state is equal to each other. When the intake air quantity in each state is equal to each other, presence of an in-system leak is determined. When a fully closed state intake air quantity is different from a fully opened state intake air quantity, presence of an out-of-system leak is determined.

A first oil circuit is fluidly coupled to the first oil pump to direct a first flow of engine oil to piston spray jets in the engine and a second oil circuit is fluidly coupled to the second oil pump to direct a second flow of engine oil to one or more oiled engine components in the engine.
