Exhaust silencer device
An exhaust silencer device which is interposed in an exhaust passage in a vehicle to reduce exhaust noise comprises a sub-muffler which is interposed in the exhaust passage and has an expansion chamber formed therein; an inlet pipe which is airtightly inserted through an inlet opening of the sub-muffler; and an outlet pipe which is airtightly inserted through an outlet opening of the sub-muffler, wherein the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe are formed with openings (small apertures, non-joined portions) only in their upper half area and their lower half area is sealed without having the openings.
Muffler system
A muffler system with a muffler in one aspect of the present disclosure includes an outer wall, and a first separator and a second separator that partition a muffling space. An attachment member is arranged on an outer surface of the outer wall, and a muffler pipe to communicate with the muffling space is arranged to pass through an attachment member hole in the attachment member. The outer surface of the outer wall includes a first area and a second area. The first area is located between a first end of the muffling space and the first separator, and the second area is located between a second end of the muffling space and the second separator. The attachment member is welded to the first and second areas of the outer surface of the outer wall.
Acoustically Tuned Muffler
A muffler for receiving exhaust gas from a combustion engine comprises a shell, first and second inlet pipes each having outlets providing exhaust gas to a mixing chamber within the shell, a first chamber and a second chamber positioned within the shell and a pair of communication pipes each including an inlet receiving exhaust gas from the mixing chamber. Each communication pipe includes an outlet providing exhaust to the second chamber. Each of the communication pipes further includes a Helmholtz opening positioned downstream of the mixing chamber. The Helmholtz openings are open to the first chamber.
Tail pipe
Provided is a tail pipe in which a silencing effect at a discharge port is obtained. One aspect of the present disclosure is a tail pipe including: an inner tube including a discharge port configured such that an exhaust gas is discharged therefrom; an outer tube arranged so as to form a space between the outer tube and the inner tube by surrounding an outer peripheral surface of the inner tube, an upstream end of the outer tube in a flow direction of the exhaust gas being closed; and at least one communication hole allowing communication between an interior of the inner tube and the space.
Exhaust gas purification device
An exhaust gas purification device includes a pre-oxidation catalyst disposed in an exhaust gas passage and a muffler that is provided in such a manner as to surround the pre-oxidation catalyst, and discharges exhaust gas while reducing noise. The muffler has an inlet which is connected to an upstream side exhaust pipe and an outlet which is connected to a downstream side exhaust pipe. The exhaust gas purification device includes a downstream side purification device that is disposed in the exhaust gas passage, and accommodates a second oxidation catalyst and a particulate matter removing filter. The exhaust gas is discharged to the atmosphere after the exhaust gas flows through the downstream side purification device.
Muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine
A muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing, a through pipe that conducts exhaust gas during operation of the muffler and is guided through the housing, and a branch pipe fluidically branching off from the through pipe within the housing. The branch pipe has an upstream end at the through pipe and ends freely and open at an end face with a downstream end within the housing. The branch pipe has a length from the upstream to the downstream end or up to a lateral recess which has a cross-sectional area which is greater than half a pipe cross-section of the branch pipe. The branch pipe has downstream perforations in a section from ⅜ of the length as measured from the upstream end A total area of the downstream perforations is smaller than half the pipe cross-section of the branch pipe, and no perforations or upstream perforations have a total area of at most 10% of the pipe cross-section of the branch pipe being present in a section before ⅜ of the length.
Exhaust structure of vehicle
An exhaust structure of a vehicle is provided that can ensure an arrangement space for a mounted component below a floor panel and prevent thermal damage to the mounted component by reducing sizes of an engine and an exhaust silencer. An exhaust structure of a vehicle includes: an engine disposed in an engine bay formed in a front part of a vehicle; a silencer that reduces noise of exhaust gas from the engine and discharges the exhaust gas outside; an exhaust pipe that couples the engine and the silencer; and a battery unit disposed behind the engine and below a floor panel, the silencer being disposed between the engine and the battery unit.
Two-Passage Exhaust System For An Engine
An exhaust system includes a housing comprising a first housing portion and a second housing portion separated by a common wall. The first housing portion has a first exhaust passage therethrough. The first exhaust passage has a first inlet receiving exhaust gasses from a turbocharger. The second housing portion has a second exhaust passage therethrough. The second exhaust passage has a second inlet receiving gasses from an exhaust bypass valve. The first passage and the second passage are non-intersecting within the housing.
