An electrical connection for an electrical component in an exhaust gas system. The exhaust gas system has a metal casing through which an electrical conductor is routed. The connection has the conductor, an electrical insulation surrounding the conductor, and a metal bushing surrounding the insulation and the conductor, all together extend along a center axis. The insulation extends along the center axis beyond the bushing by an insulation gap of at least 2 mm at least at a first end of the connection.

A device for reducing the emission of carbon particles from combustion of hydrocarbons, more particularly in exhaust emission of vehicles, includes a duality of electrically conducting rotating members with opposite polarities, charged with high voltage to create a corona discharge and agglomerate the ionized carbon particles. The carbon particles are cleaned using a plurality of wipers. The agglomerated carbon particles are then separated in a removable collection box or are optionally fed to a cyclone filter to be disposed. Various embodiments may be installed in existing vehicles as well as in open source pollution locations to helps control air pollution.

A disclosed system for reducing particulate matter in exhaust gas includes: a processing object unit having a preset system voltage and configured to produce exhaust gas containing particulate matters (PMs); a first conductor provided in the form of a tubular body in which the exhaust gas flows and to which a ground power supply is connected; a second conductor disposed in the first conductor and having an emitter which comes into contact with the exhaust gas and generates non-thermal plasma (NTP); an insulator configured to electrically separate the second conductor from the first conductor; and a transformer provided to be electrically insulated from the first conductor and fixedly disposed outside the tubular body that constitutes the first conductor, the transformer being configured to receive the system voltage, raise the system voltage to a preset operating voltage, and apply the preset operating voltage to the second conductor.

An internal combustion engine provided with an engine body, a filter provided in an exhaust passage of the engine body and trapping PM in the exhaust, and an aggregating device charging PM in the exhaust flowing into the filter to make it aggregate. The control device for controlling the internal combustion engine is provided with a PM charging control part controlling the amount of charging of the PM in the exhaust flowing into the filter. The PM charging control part controls the aggregating device so that the amount of charging of the PM becomes smaller when the amount of PM buildup of the filter is large compared with when it is small.
