20210155077 · 2021-05-27 ·

An exhaust intrusion mitigation system for a vehicle includes one or more processors and a memory communicably coupled to the one or more processors. The memory stores an enclosure detection module which determines if a vehicle is parked within an enclosure with the engine running. An exhaust module determines a point in time at which one or more vehicle vents should be closed if the vehicle remains in the enclosure and the engine remains on. A mitigation module controls operation of the vehicle to close the one or more vents at the point in time when the vent(s) should be closed.

Determination method for exhaust gas treatment device and determination system for exhaust gas treatment device

A determination method is for an exhaust gas treatment device mounted in a work machine and having at least one of a diesel oxidation catalyst and a catalyzed soot filter. The determination method includes acquiring heat damage information, acquiring cumulative heat damage information, and determining a usability of the exhaust gas treatment device based on the cumulative heat damage information. The heat damage information indicates an extent of heat damage of the exhaust gas treatment device based on a unique identification symbol of the exhaust gas treatment device. The cumulative heat damage information is acquired by accumulating the heat damage information.

Method for regulating a filling of a reservoir of a catalytic converter for an exhaust gas component as a function of an aging of the catalytic converter

A method is presented for regulating a filling of an exhaust gas component reservoir of a catalytic converter in the exhaust of an internal combustion engine. Using a first catalytic converter model, an actual fill level of the exhaust gas component reservoir is ascertained. An aging state of the catalytic converter is determined; and a set of model parameters of the first catalytic converter model is allocated to the aging state; the individual model parameters being ascertained by interpolation from basic values of model parameters, the basic values having been determined for at least two different aging states of a catalytic converter of identical design.

Method And Apparatus For Selective Catalytic Reduction System

Selective catalytic reduction systems are known and are generally included in exhaust systems of diesel engines in order to treat the exhaust gases of such engines. Such systems involve the introduction of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) into exhaust gas flowing in an exhaust passage of an engine. When dosing DEF onto a hydrolysis catalyst in a SCR system, the DEF will under certain conditions cool the hydrolysis catalyst sufficiently to either slow down or effectively prevent ammonia release, which creates a lag or delay in the function of the hydrolysis catalyst. This limits the amount of control which can be exerted over ammonia storage in the SCR catalyst, and NOx conversion. In a first step, a set of measurement data is received from one or more sensors provided in the system. Subsequently, a first set of characteristics associated with a state of a component of the catalytic system, a second set of characteristics associated with an output of the catalytic system and a third set of characteristics associated with a bias and a scaling factor in the system are derived. In a third step, the derived sets of characteristics are used to control the catalytic system.
