FLUID FLOW NETWORK FOR A VEHICLE
A fluid flow network for a vehicle includes first and second flow ducts having a common inlet and a common outlet; a flow directing member movable about a first axis and configured to direct flow from the common inlet to at least one of the first and second flow ducts; a flow reactive member configured to detect an imbalance between the flow exiting the first flow duct and the flow exiting the second flow duct; and means for adjusting the position of the flow directing member if an imbalance is detected by the flow reactive member.
Inline Turbocharger Arrangement and Method
An internal combustion engine having an exhaust log structure onto which a plurality of turbochargers is connected, each turbocharger having a turbine connected to the exhaust log structure and having an inlet fluidly connectable to a respective one of the plurality of outlet ports, an exhaust valve disposed at a turbine outlet such that the flow of exhaust gas out of the turbine is fluidly blocked, and an actuator associated with the exhaust valve and operating to move the exhaust valve from a closed position to an open position and vice versa. An electronic controller provides a command to the actuator to move the exhaust valve between the open and closed positions and is programmed to selectively open two one or more exhaust valves based on an operating condition of the engine.
VEHICLE FRAME WITH ACOUSTIC VOLUME FOR AN EXHAUST SYSTEM
A vehicle exhaust system includes a first component that receives exhaust gas output from an engine and a second component that is fluidly coupled to the first component to define an upstream portion of a vehicle exhaust system. A vehicle frame member includes an internal acoustic volume. A pipe connects the internal acoustic volume in parallel to the upstream portion of the vehicle exhaust system.
EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR A WORK VEHICLE
An exhaust system for a work vehicle includes a mixer that includes a nozzle configured to receive a first exhaust flow along a lateral axis through a plurality of openings in a peripheral wall of the nozzle. The nozzle also receives a diesel exhaust fluid along a longitudinal axis through a longitudinal inlet. Further, the nozzle is configured to mix the first exhaust flow and the diesel exhaust fluid to form an exhaust solution. In addition, the mixer includes a conduit configured to receive the exhaust solution along the longitudinal axis. Moreover, the conduit has an opening configured to receive a portion of the nozzle, and the conduit is configured to receive a second exhaust flow through a gap formed between the nozzle and the conduit at the opening, and the opening is positioned downstream of the plurality of openings
EXHAUST-GAS TREATMENT ARRANGEMENT
An exhaust-gas treatment arrangement for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a first exhaust-gas treatment unit and an exhaust-gas treatment assembly being arranged axially one after the other in the direction of a longitudinal axis of a flow path. The flow path includes the first exhaust-gas treatment unit and the exhaust-gas treatment assembly. A hydrocarbon introduction assembly for introducing hydrocarbon into exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust-gas treatment arrangement is provided. The hydrocarbon introduction assembly includes a bypass flow channel which includes a flow-channel inlet region for receiving exhaust gas upstream of the first exhaust-gas treatment unit and a flow-channel outlet region for discharging exhaust gas or/and hydrocarbon into the flow path downstream of the first exhaust-gas treatment unit and upstream of the exhaust-gas treatment assembly. The hydrocarbon introduction assembly includes a hydrocarbon discharging unit for discharging hydrocarbon into the bypass flow channel.
Exhaust system for a motor vehicle and corresponding motor vehicle
An exhaust system for a motor vehicle, with an exhaust pipe for discharging exhaust of a device that produces an exhaust. A heat accumulator, which surrounds the exhaust pipe in the peripheral direction with respect to a longitudinal central axis of the exhaust pipe, is present, at least in regions thereof, and, in the radial direction between the exhaust pipe and the heat accumulator over at least a portion of the longitudinal extension the heat accumulator, a cross-section adjusting element for adjusting a passage cross section is arranged between the exhaust pipe and the heat accumulator. The cross-section adjusting element has a first holed pipe, which surrounds the exhaust pipe, and a second holed pipe, which surrounds the first holed pipe. The first holed pipe and the second holed pipe can be shifted in position relative to each other for adjusting the passage cross section.
EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
In order to improve the performance of keeping the temperature of an exhaust purifier when a vehicle is running, an engine is provided with an exhaust passage behind a cylinder head in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The exhaust passage includes an exhaust manifold and an exhaust purification system disposed serially in a flow direction of an exhaust gas, the exhaust manifold being located upstream of the exhaust purification system. The exhaust purification system contains a GPF device configured to purify a gas. The exhaust purification system is located below the exhaust manifold, and is disposed so as to overlap the exhaust manifold in the vehicle transverse direction. The exhaust purification system is also disposed so as to protrude with respect to the exhaust manifold rearward in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
EXHAUST SOUND GENERATING APPARATUS OF VEHICLE
Disclosed is an exhaust sound generating apparatus of a vehicle including a housing which has a connection flow passage connected to the exhaust pipe of a vehicle and is open on one surface, a cover member covering the open portion of the housing, and a membrane accommodated in an inside of the housing to partition the inside of the housing into a first space on the connection flow passage side and a second space on the cover member side and vibrated by the pulsation of exhaust gas.
EXHAUST ACCESSORY DEVICE FOR EXHAUST PIPE
The invention relates to an exhaust accessory device for exhaust pipe, which is installed in an exhaust pipe system of a vehicle, including an outer pipe, a front cover portion, a catalytic converter and a rear cover portion, wherein a central communication hole is set inside of the catalytic converter, an annular catalytic conversion element is set on the periphery of the central communication hole, an oxygen sensor is set on the periphery of the outer pipe. By the composition of above structure, the exhausted emissions are provided to be filtered and burned for the second time to increase engine displacement efficiently and create a back pressure effect to assist engine for increasing horsepower.
