Method of manufacturing tubular member for exhaust gas treatment device, and coating film forming device

A method of manufacturing a tubular member for an exhaust gas treatment device according to at least one embodiment of the present invention, the tubular member including a tubular main body made of a metal and an insulating layer formed on at least an inner peripheral surface of the tubular main body, the insulating layer containing glass, includes steps of: forming a coating film by spraying a coating liquid for insulating layer formation onto the inner peripheral surface of the tubular main body; and firing the coating film to obtain the insulating layer. The spraying is performed while the tubular main body is rotated with a length direction thereof being a rotation axis.

Riding lawn mower

A riding lawn mower has an internal combustion engine and a muffler with a first housing. The internal combustion engine is connected to the muffler to supply exhaust gases originating from the internal combustion engine to the first housing of the muffler for noise damping of the exhaust gases. A second housing is provided that thermally insulates the first housing of the muffler. The second housing at least partially encloses the first housing of the muffler. The second housing has an exterior side with an emissivity of greater than 0.8.

An exhaust device of an engine is provided, which includes an exhaust port formed in a cylinder head and connected to an exhaust aperture of a cylinder, an exhaust manifold disposed on a side surface of the cylinder head and formed with a first exhaust passage, an exhaust path constituting part disposed on a side of the exhaust manifold opposite from the cylinder head, and formed with a second exhaust passage, a catalyst disposed on a downstream side of the exhaust path constituting part, an upstream gasket disposed between the side surface of the cylinder head and an upstream connecting member of the manifold, and a downstream gasket disposed between a downstream connecting member of the manifold and an exhaust-manifold-side connecting member of the exhaust path constituting part. The upstream gasket has a larger thermal resistance in an exhaust gas flow direction than the downstream gasket.

Air Gap-Insulated Muffler

A muffler, in particular an end muffler, is provided for an exhaust system in a vehicle. The muffler has a muffler housing that has an exhaust intake pipe via which exhaust flows into the muffler housing as well as an exhaust discharge pipe via which exhaust flows out of the muffler housing. At least part of the muffler housing or the entire muffler housing is surrounded by an outer housing, and an air gap is provided between the muffler housing and the outer housing.

Engine exhaust gas recirculation system

An exhaust gas recirculation system for a multi-cylinder engine is provided, which includes an exhaust manifold connected to a cylinder head, a catalyst connected to a downstream end of the exhaust manifold in terms of an exhaust gas flow, an EGR gas outlet provided downstream of the catalyst, an in-head EGR passage penetrating the cylinder head, and an EGR pipe extending from the EGR gas outlet and directly connected to an inlet of the in-head EGR passage to lead EGR gas thereto. The catalyst is disposed so that the exhaust gas flows therein from a first side to a second side in an engine cylinder lined-up direction. The EGR gas outlet is located on the second side with respect to the center of the engine in the cylinder lined-up direction, and the inlet of the in-head EGR passage is located in the first side with respect to the engine center.
