Exhaust gate

An exhaust gate, in particular for a heavy-goods vehicle, has a housing, which has an inlet and first and second outlets, on which first and second valve seats are formed, and a valve flap, which can be pivoted between the two valve seats to close the first or second outlet. The housing is formed as a cast part, which connects the inlet and at least the first outlet integrally to each other. The valve flap has a larger cross section than the inlet and the first and second valve seats.

Electrically-heated catalytic converter

An electrically-heated catalytic converter includes: a substrate made of ceramic, the substrate including a catalyst coated layer; electrode films made of ceramic, the electrode films being disposed on a surface of the substrate; electrode terminals made of ceramic, each of the electrode terminals being secured to a corresponding one of the electrode films; and external electrodes each attached to a corresponding one of the electrode terminals via a brazing filler metal. A thermal expansion coefficient of the brazing filler metal is equal to or higher than a thermal expansion coefficient of the electrode terminals, and is equal to or lower than a thermal expansion coefficient of the external electrodes. The thermal expansion coefficient of each of the electrode terminals decreases from a portion at which the electrode terminal is joined to the brazing filler metal toward a portion at which the electrode terminal is joined to the corresponding electrode film.

The invention relates to an exhaust aftertreatment arrangement (100) for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, said exhaust aftertreatment arrangement (100) comprising a fluid passage (30) for exhaust gases from said exhaust system, said fluid passage (30) defining an inner perimeter (32) and an exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) comprising an exhaust aftertreatment element (42) confined by an outer wall (44) defining an outer periphery (46) of the exhaust aftertreatment unit (40), the exhaust aftertreatment unit (40) being sealingly arranged in said fluid passage (30) for enabling flow of said exhaust gases through said exhaust aftertreatment element (42). A leakage treatment member (50) comprising an exhaust aftertreatment component is arranged between said inner perimeter (32) of the fluid passage (30) and said outer periphery (46) of said outer wall (44) of the exhaust aftertreatment unit (40), for aftertreatment of any leakage of said flow of exhaust gases past said aftertreatment unit (40) in said fluid passage (30).

Honeycomb bodies with multi-zoned honeycomb structures and co-extrusion manufacturing methods

A honeycomb body with a honeycomb structure having an inner zone of a first plurality of walls and an outer zone of a second plurality of walls at least partially surrounding the inner zone. The honeycomb structure has Pi that is greater than Po and MPSi that is greater than MPSo, wherein Pi is an average bulk porosity of the first plurality of walls, Po is an average bulk porosity of the second plurality of walls, MPSi is a median pore size of pores in the first plurality of walls, and MPSo is a median pore size of pores in the second plurality of walls. Various honeycomb structures, honeycomb extrusion apparatus, and co-extrusion methods are disclosed.

COATING STRUCTURE, HEAT EXCHANGER, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGER

A coating structure includes a base made of metal, a foundation layer provided on the base, and an insulation film provided on the foundation layer. The insulation film includes a plurality of layers, each layer of the plurality of layers being different in material, the plurality of layers being layered alternately with each other. The foundation layer is provided by a method other than a coating method using a surface chemical reaction occurring on the base, and a part of the foundation layer in contact with the base is amorphous. According to this, when a foreign material adheres on the base, the foreign material can be covered by the foundation layer. Since the insulation film is provided on the foundation layer, forming defects of the insulation film caused by the foreign material can be limited.
