Methods for designing an exhaust assembly for a vehicle
A method of designing an exhaust assembly that includes the steps: developing an initial exhaust assembly design; evaluating the initial design based on a design guide; developing an interim exhaust assembly design, or a plurality of interim exhaust assembly designs, based on the initial design and a parametric model; evaluating the interim design or designs using a computational fluid dynamics model; and developing a final exhaust assembly design based on the parametric and the fluid dynamics models.
MIXER FOR EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM
A flow device for a mixer of an exhaust aftertreatment system. The flow device includes a plate and a plurality of conduits coupled to the plate. Each of the conduits includes a first sidewall extending outward of the plate, a second sidewall extending outward of the plate and opposing the first sidewall, a main wall extending from the plate and between the first sidewall and the second sidewall, a conduit inlet coplanar with the plate and that receives exhaust, and a conduit outlet forming an angle between 35 degrees and 145 degrees, inclusive, with the plate. The conduit outlet releases the exhaust received from the conduit inlet.

Exhaust plume control structure and power generating plant including same
An exhaust plume control structure includes a mounting member configured to mount to an exhaust flow source. A diverter member is coupled to the mounting member to radially direct an initial exhaust flow exiting from the exhaust flow source radially outward. A plurality of peripherally spaced, radially extending vanes are coupled to the mounting member and radially outward of the diverter member to separate the radially outward directed initial exhaust flow into a plurality of additional exhaust flows. Each vane has a radially diverging cross-section. Each of the plurality of additional exhaust flows has a same radial exit velocity. The structure reduces exhaust flow velocity and may provide back pressure to the initial exhaust flow. The structure has a sound power level of less than 115 dBA. A power generating plant including the structure is also disclosed.
