Internal combustion engine having catalyzed heat exchanger for steam reformation and delivery of hydrogen to a fuel cell
A method of providing electrical power to on-board electrical devices of a vehicle. The engine has an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation loop) which may be a high pressure loop, a low pressure loop, or a dedicated cylinder loop. A catalyzed heat exchanger on the EGR loop has a steam reformation catalyst and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses hot exhaust gas from the main exhaust line to heat the catalyst. A methane fuel source adds methane to the recirculated exhaust stream before it enters the catalyst, and the catalytic reaction increases the amount of hydrogen in the recirculated exhaust. The hydrogen is then delivered to a PEM fuel cell.
Contaminant reducing device
A contaminant reducing device is provided. The contaminant reducing device comprises: an exhaust gas tube for supplying exhaust gas from a combustion engine; a cleaning water supply tube for supplying cleaning water; a scrubber for spraying cleaning water, which is supplied through the cleaning water supply tube, to exhaust gas supplied through the exhaust gas tube; an oxidation unit connected to the exhaust gas tube so as to oxidize the exhaust gas by discharging electricity, emitting ultraviolent rays, or spraying an oxidizer; and a cleaning water discharge tube for discharging cleaning water from inside the scrubber.

Flame-assisted fuel cell integrated rich burn, quick mix, lean burn combustion for reduced NOx
A micro-tubular flame assisted fuel cell (mT FFC) integrated with a rich-burn, quick-mix, lean-burn (RQL) combustor for reduced NOx. Fuel and oxidant pass into a first-stage, fuel-rich combustion chamber. The exhaust products pass to the fuel cell for electrochemical conversion. Any remaining fuel is quickly mixed in a jet of oxidant to reduce temperature gradients and NOx formation in a second stage, fuel-lean combustion chamber. Preheating of the fuel, and different oxidant streams, is possible via heat exchangers in the fuel-rich and fuel-lean combustion chambers.
SILENCER FOR FUEL CELL VEHICLES
Disclosed is a silencer for fuel cell vehicles. The silencer for fuel cell vehicles includes a housing having an inlet configured to receive air and hydrogen flowing into the housing therethrough, an outlet, and a condensation water drain hole configured to discharge condensation water to the outside therethrough, a distribution plate disposed in the housing and having distribution holes to distribute air and hydrogen flowing into the housing, a rotary plate disposed in the housing closer to the outlet than the distribution plate, a motor connected to the rotary plate to rotate the rotary plate, and an anti-freezing unit extending from one end of the rotary plate to the condensation water drain hole.
EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT DEVICE COMPRISING AN ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas treatment device. In one example, the exhaust gas treatment device comprises an electrochemical cell having a first electrode, a second electrode and an electrolyte provided between the first and second electrodes, wherein the electrochemical cell is configured to convert a first pollutant species, such as nitric oxide, within the exhaust gas to a second pollutant species, such as nitrogen dioxide, such that a concentration of the second pollutant species within the exhaust gases leaving the exhaust gas treatment device is increased relative to the exhaust gases entering the exhaust gas treatment device.

The present invention is a method for removing pollution from exhaust gas circulating in an exhaust line (12) of an internal-combustion engine. The exhaust line comprises an ammonia-sensitive catalyst (46) with selective NOx catalytic reduction traversed by the gas and an injector (56, 58) for injecting a reductant of the pollutants The catalyst decomposes the reductant into a hydrogen gas phase and an ammonia gas phase and, for a gas temperature below approximately 150 C. injects the hydrogen into the exhaust line in combination with a hydrogen-sensitive NOx catalyst.

CONTAMINANT REDUCING DEVICE
A contaminant reducing device is provided. The contaminant reducing device comprises: an exhaust gas tube for supplying exhaust gas from a combustion engine; a cleaning water supply tube for supplying cleaning water; a scrubber for spraying cleaning water, which is supplied through the cleaning water supply tube, to exhaust gas supplied through the exhaust gas tube; an oxidation unit connected to the exhaust gas tube so as to oxidize the exhaust gas by discharging electricity, emitting ultraviolent rays, or spraying an oxidizer; and a cleaning water discharge tube for discharging cleaning water from inside the scrubber.
