Valvular-conduit exhaust manifold

A fluid-conduit collector spans across a plurality of collector-inlet interface structures and at least one fluidic diode element. A branch inlet portion of at least one collector-inlet interface structure, in fluid communication with a corresponding fluid-conduit runner portion, provides for receiving exhaust gases from a corresponding separate exhaust port of an intermittent-combustion internal combustion engine. A main inlet portion of the collector-inlet interface structure in fluid communication with an outlet portion thereof defines a portion of the fluid conduit of the collector. The branch inlet portion is in fluid communication with the outlet portion via a collector inlet port that is at least partially bounded by a relatively-sharp-edged junction with the fluid conduit of the collector. The fluidic-diode element located coincident with, or downstream of, the collector inlet port provides for a relatively-higher coefficient of discharge for exhaust gases flowing towards an outlet of the collector, than for an associated reverse-directed bulk flow or acoustic pressure wave flowing in a reverse direction.

PULSE EXHAUST PIPE AND DIESEL ENGINE INSTALLED WITH PULSE EXHAUST PIPE

A pulse exhaust pipe for use with diesel engines an end of the pulse exhaust pipe is in communication with eight cylinders, and another end is in communication with two turbochargers; the pulse exhaust pipe includes three exhaust pipe sections which are separated from each other, each exhaust pipe section discharging to a turbocharger independently, wherein a first exhaust pipe section is in communication with a first and second cylinder, while a second exhaust pipe section is in communication with a third to a sixth cylinder, and a third exhaust pipe section is in communication with a seventh and eighth cylinder. The pulse exhaust pipe may prevent the backward flow of exhaust gas and inlet air back flow, thus increasing inflation efficiency and improving the uniformity of each cylinder. Also provided is a diesel engine installed with said pulse exhaust pipe.

Exhaust system for an internal combustion automotive engine

An exhaust system for an internal combustion automotive engine, such as a V engine or boxer engine, includes a left exhaust tract connectable to a left group of cylinders and a right exhaust tract connectable to a right group of cylinders. Each exhaust tract includes a tract structure defining a tract inlet for receiving exhaust gas ejected from the group of cylinders to which the exhaust tract is connectable, at least one exhaust outlet opening into the atmosphere, and a connection pipe extending between the tract inlet and the exhaust outlet. The connection pipe includes an inlet aperture for receiving exhaust gas from the tract inlet and an outlet aperture for transferring exhaust gas towards the exhaust opening. The left and the right connection pipes are joined to realize a pipe junction such that the connection pipes form a common connection aperture for transferring exhaust gas and the exhaust system includes at least one valve member for opening or closing the common connection aperture.

Exhaust Valve Damper

A snap-action valve assembly for an exhaust system is provided with a conduit that defines an exhaust passageway. A valve flap is disposed within the exhaust passageway for controlling exhaust flow. A shaft supports the valve flap in the exhaust passageway and allows the valve flap to rotate between closed and open positions. A mass damper, positioned outside the conduit, includes a longitudinal segment that is rotatably coupled to the shaft and that extends between first and second coiled ends. The longitudinal segment includes an inboard side and an outboard side. The first and second coiled ends include a series of overlapping layers arranged in either a folded serpentine shape or a spiral shape.

An exhaust gas pressure regulator for a combustion engine includes a regulator housing and an inner diffuser assembly arranged inside the regulator housing so that an exhaust gas flow duct is formed between an inner surface of the regulator housing and an outer surface of the inner diffuser assembly. The inner diffuser assembly includes a front portion and a regulating piston that is moveable relative to the front portion and the regulator housing between an idle position in which the exhaust gas flow duct is open, and a pressurized position in which the regulating piston at least partly closes the exhaust gas flow duct. The inner diffuser assembly includes at least one throttled flow passage between the gas flow duct and an exhaust gas pressure chamber defined by the regulating piston and an interior surface of the front portion.

Line element having an inner element and an outer element

The invention relates to line elements (600) consisting of a multi-layer inner element (IE) and an outer element (AE), wherein the inner element (IE) and the outer element (AE) are in contact with each other at points, at lines, over part of the surfaces thereof, or over the full surfaces thereof. Furthermore, a frictional contact protection means extending over the component length is provided, or a frictional layer (121) is provided in the contact region of the inner element (IE) and the outer element (AE). The wear of the outer element (AE) caused by friction can thereby be minimized.
