Provided is an exhaust gas purification device provided with a cover which can reduce radiated noise at low cost without impairing the heat shield function of the cover. Provided is an exhaust gas purification device comprising: an exhaust gas purification device body provided to the exhaust pipe of a diesel engine and purifying exhaust gas; and a substantially rectangular cover provided so as to cover at least a part of the exhaust gas purification device body and blocking heat radiated from the exhaust gas purification device body. The cover is provided with a plurality of protruding ribs formed on the surface thereof. The ribs comprise: radial ribs formed extending radially from a center section centered at the intersection of the diagonals of the cover; and a circumferential rib formed continuously along the entire circumference of a circle centered at the intersection.
Exhaust gas reduction unit for internal combustion engine
Unit for reduction of exhaust gases for an IC engine. The unit has a cylindrical housing with gas inlet and outlet openings and injector for a reducing substance. A helicoid is coaxially arranged inside the housing. A channel conveys the exhaust gases, has a substantially quadrangular cross-section, and helicoidally develops inside the unit. The helix is generated by the intersection between the inner surface of the housing and the helicoid has an inclination angle () relative to planes perpendicular to the generatrices of the cylindrical housing ranging from 0 to 30. The unit includes a coaxial stiffening and stabilization sleeve located at the center of the helicoid passing axially throughout the helicoid and axially over a length at least equal to the axial length of the helicoid. The sleeve cooperates with the inner surface of the housing and with the opposite surfaces of the helicoid to define the helicoidal channel.

An exhaust system including: an exhaust pipe including a straight portion, and a bent portion that is bent and extends from a downstream end of the straight portion; a muffler provided on a downstream side of the exhaust pipe; and a reinforcing member, wherein: the straight portion of the exhaust pipe is connected with an upstream end of the muffler through the bent portion; and the reinforcing member is provided so as to extend across a downstream end portion of the straight portion, and an upstream end portion of the muffler.
SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR EXHAUST SYSTEM PART
A support structure for an exhaust system part that configures an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle includes a bracket and a support member. The bracket includes a first plate and a second plate. The first plate has both end portions attached to the second plate, and the second plate has both end portions attached to the exhaust system part. A first space is defined between the first plate and the second plate, and a second space is defined between the second plate and the exhaust system part. Each of the first space and the second space has a first open end disposed on the vehicle front side, and has a second open end disposed on the vehicle rear side. The first plate, the first space, the second plate, and the second space are disposed between the support member and the exhaust system part.
SILENCER INSERT, SILENCER COMPRISING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SILENCER INSERT
A silencer insert (10) for a silencer of an exhaust system includes a first and a second partition wall (11, 12) and a connecting wall (13) arranged therebetween. The first partition wall (11) defines a first plane (E1), the second partition wall (12) defines a second plane (E2), and the connecting wall (13) defines a third plane (E3). At least one of the first partition wall, the second partition wall, and the connecting wall includes at least one perforated area (15). The connecting wall (13) is formed in one piece with the first partition wall (11) and the second partition wall (12). The first plane encloses with the second plane an angle of not more than 60, the first plane and the second plane being particularly in parallel. A silencer is provided including a housing (1) receiving the silencer insert (10). A method is provided for manufacturing the silencer insert.
EXHAUST SYSTEM APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An exhaust system apparatus for an engine includes an exhaust conduit member, which is connected to the rear face of the engine body, and a heat shield member, which covers the exhaust conduit member. The heat shield member has a curved-side body portion, which covers a curved portion of the exhaust conduit member, an inner flange portion, which extends from the curved-side body portion and is arranged in the region on the inner peripheral side of the curved portion, and an outer flange portion, which extends from the curved-side body portion and is arranged in the region on the outer peripheral side of the curved portion. The extending length of the inner flange portion in a direction away from the curved-side body portion is longer than the extending length of the outer flange portion in a direction away from the curved-side body portion.

The diffusing member of the present invention is disposed in an exhaust pipe to partially block exhaust gas flowing in from upstream of the exhaust pipe, the diffusing member including a ceramic member and a metal member, wherein the ceramic member surrounds the metal member in such a manner that the metal member is partially exposed, and the volume of the ceramic member constituting the diffusing member is larger than the volume of the metal member constituting the diffusing member.
VEHICLE MUFFLER WITH INTEGRATED AIR DEFLECTOR
A muffler having an integrated air deflector comprised of sheet metal includes a tubular shell portion and an integrated air deflector comprised of the sheet metal is described. The integrated air deflector is formed by bending a portion of the sheet metal to project outwardly from a surface of the tubular shell portion. A muffler assembly includes a muffler having an integrated air deflector comprised of sheet metal and end caps configured to attach to tubular ends of the tubular shell portion. The muffler assembly is configured to be installed on an underbody of a motor vehicle. The muffler assembly results in improved aerodynamic efficiency of the motor vehicle and thereby increases a fuel efficiency of the motor vehicle.
Injector Having A Reinforced Spray Disc
An injector for adding a liquid additive into an exhaust gas treatment apparatus includes at least one nozzle having a spray disc configured to inject the liquid additive into the exhaust gas treatment apparatus. The spray disc has: at least one spray duct, through which flow of the liquid additive can pass, the spray duct having an outlet opening configured to shape a spray jet of the liquid additive. The spray disc has a reinforcing structure arranged downstream of the outlet opening, the reinforcing structure being configured such that it is not wetted by the spray jet.
EXHAUST STRUCTURE HAVING RIB
An exhaust structure for an exhaust manifold includes a body including a first inlet section configured to receive exhaust gas, a second inlet section configured to receive exhaust gas, and an outlet section disposed in fluid communication with each of the first inlet section and the second inlet section to receive exhaust gas, wherein exhaust gas from the first inlet section and the second inlet section exit the exhaust structure through the outlet section, and wherein the outlet section includes a flange. The body may include a rib extending generally along the longitudinal axis and disposed on a surface of the outlet section, the rib including a first section having a first inclined surface, a second section spaced from the first section and having a second inclined surface, and a third section disposed between the first section and the second section, the third section having a curved surface.
