CATALYST UNIT AND EXHAUST GAS CATALYST
A catalyst unit includes: a ceramic catalyst body through which exhaust gas flows and having a substantially cuboid contour with a substantially rectangular inflow side and a substantially rectangular outflow side; a housing that at least partially encloses the catalyst body, and at least one bearing mat positioned in a gap formed between the catalyst body and the housing. Borders or edges of the catalyst body, which delimit the inflow side and the outflow side, each have dimensions of between 210 mm and 280 mm. The gap between the catalyst body and the housing, seen perpendicularly to the throughflow direction of the catalyst body, has a dimension determined according to the following relationship: sp*5, s being the dimension of the gap in mm and p the dimensionless amount of the density of the or each bearing mat expressed in kg/m2.
Mounting mat
A mounting mat for a pollution control device is disclosed. The device comprises at least a first sheet and a second sheet and at least one holding means for holding the at least first and second sheets together. The holding means are adapted to (i) hold the at least first and second sheets together while allowing movement of the at least first and second sheets parallel to each other in the region where the holding means is positioned; and/or (ii) to break upon wrapping around a body thereby allowing movement of the at least first and second sheets parallel to each other in the region where the holding means is positioned. A pollution control device containing such a mat and method of making a pollution control device containing such a mat are also disclosed.
Electrically heating support and exhaust gas purification device
An electrically heating support according to the present invention includes: a ceramic honeycomb structure, the honeycomb structure including an outer peripheral wall and a partition wall arranged on an inner side of the outer peripheral wall, the partition wall defining a plurality of cells each extending from one end face to other end face to form a flow path; and a pair of metal electrodes 5 for applying a voltage to a honeycomb structure, wherein each of the pair of metal electrodes 5 includes: at least one connection portion 50 fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structure; and at least one drawer portion 51 extending from the connection portion 50, and wherein the drawer portion is provided with at least two bent portions 510, and extending directions of ridgelines of the at least two bent portions 510 are different from each other.
Exhaust gas aftertreatment module
An aftertreatment module for the treatment of exhaust gasses from a power system includes a first aftertreatment brick and a second aftertreatment brick. The first and second aftertreatment bricks can be flow-through type catalysts for catalyzing byproducts in the exhaust gasses. The aftertreatment module can include a first channel directing the incoming exhaust gasses in a first direction through the first aftertreatment brick and a second channel directing the exhaust gasses through the second aftertreatment brick. The first and second channel can be in a side-by-side arrangement. To communicate the exhaust gasses between the first and second channels, a traverse channel can redirect the gas flow within the aftertreatment module.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING A CORE OF DIESEL EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE
A system for removing an existing core from a diesel emission control device (DECD) housing may include a press, a control station, a decore shaft for engaging the existing core, and a push plate. In certain embodiments, the system for removing the existing core may include a collection container for receiving the existing core. In certain embodiments, a push plate having a second aperture is configured to allow the existing core to pass therethrough. A method for removing an existing core from a DECD housing may include placing the DECD housing on a working platform, activating a force to cause the existing core to move relative to the DECD housing, wherein the existing core passes through an aperture of the working platform.
MAT MATERIAL, EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MAT MATERIAL
A mat material including: a base mat containing inorganic fibers and including a first main surface and a second main surface; and a network on at least one of the first or second main surface, the network containing multiple bases made of an organic substance and fibers stretching in at least two directions from each of the multiple bases.
