CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
A catalytic converter for exhaust gas aftertreatment, with a matrix and a casing, the matrix is formed from a coiled layered stack of metal sheets and is inserted into the casing and bonded thereto only in portions and a method for producing a catalytic converter.
Catalytic reactor and ship provided with same
A catalytic reactor including: a first opening located in a side surface of a catalytic reactor; a plurality of catalytic cassettes charged into the catalytic reactor through the first opening toward a side surface opposed to the first opening so that the plurality of catalytic cassettes is arranged adjacent to each other; and a fixing member configured to be urged by a first lid member closing the first opening and to press upper surfaces of the plurality of catalytic cassettes. The fixing member is disposed to extend along a direction from the first opening to the side surface opposed to the first opening.
CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODIES AND METHOD FOR CANNING THEREOF
Ceramic honeycomb bodies and methods for canning the bodies are disclosed herein. The honeycomb bodies comprise a porous ceramic honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure comprises a network of cells defined by walls that extend in an axial direction about a longitudinal axis from an inlet end to an outlet end of the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure also comprises a portion of cells with protrusions. The portion of cells with protrusions supports a greater concentration of catalyst, as compared to a portion of cells without protrusions. The portion of cells with protrusions is disposed off-center with respect to the longitudinal axis of the honeycomb structure such that the portion of cells with protrusions (and greater concentration of catalyst) corresponds to areas of high exhaust flow through the structure.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING AN EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT DEVICE
A process manufactures an exhaust gas treatment device including a tubular circumferential wall (14) elongated along a longitudinal axis (L) with two axial end areas, an exhaust gas treatment unit (52) arranged in the circumferential wall and a closing element (20, 38) connected to the circumferential wall at the two axial end areas. The exhaust gas treatment unit is held at the circumferential wall by a supporting material layer (54) enclosing the exhaust gas treatment unit and supporting same in relation to the circumferential wall. The process includes arranging a first of the two closing elements at one of the axial end areas of the circumferential wall, pushing the exhaust gas treatment unit enclosed by the supporting material layer into the circumferential wall from the other axial end area (18), and arranging a second of the closing elements at the other axial end area of the circumferential wall.
Exhaust system component
An exhaust system component for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle comprises a substrate which is held in a substantially cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing has a housing jacket which comprises a metal sheet bent about a cylinder axis. The ends of the metal sheet oriented in the circumferential direction relative to the cylinder axis form a joint connected with a weld seam. The weld seam is spaced apart from an inner surface of the housing jacket and the ends each have a bevel at least in sections.
Zeolite, method for producing zeolite, honeycomb catalyst using zeolite, and exhaust gas purifying apparatus
There is provided a zeolite having a CHA structure. When a total integrated intensity of a (211) plane, a (104) plane, and a (220) plane in an X-ray diffraction spectrum obtained by an X-ray powder diffraction method is defined as X.sub.0 and the total integrated intensity after heat endurance test for five hours at 900 C. under an air atmosphere is defined as X.sub.1, a ratio of X.sub.1 (X.sub.1/X.sub.0) to X.sub.0 is within a range from 0.2-0.7; and as measured by a .sup.27Al-NMR method after the heat endurance test for five hours at 900 C. under the air atmosphere, when a peak intensity of tetra-coordinated Al atoms is defined as P.sub.4 and a peak intensity of hexa-coordinated Al atoms is defined as P.sub.6, a ratio of P.sub.6 (P.sub.6/P.sub.4) to P.sub.4 is 0.1 or less.
Catalytic reactor and ship provided with same
A catalytic reactor including: catalytic cassettes each including a catalyst part configured to reduce NOx in exhaust gas and an outer peripheral part made of a frame covering side surfaces of the catalyst part; and a lattice frame on which the catalytic cassettes are placed. The lattice frame includes a plurality of inflow holes through which exhaust gas flows into the catalyst parts and a plurality of frame parts which defines the respective plurality of inflow holes. The outer peripheral part of each of the catalytic cassettes is positioned so that the outer peripheral part is accommodated in a respective one of the frame parts.
Exhaust gas treatment arrangement
An exhaust gas treatment arrangement for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing which is elongated in the direction of a housing longitudinal axis, and at least one exhaust gas treatment unit which is arranged in the housing and has a shell. At least one bearing/sealing unit with at least two bearing/sealing rings is arranged in a radial intermediate space formed between the shell and the housing. The at least two bearing/sealing rings follow one another radially, are nested inside one another and are each interrupted in a circumferential interruption region. The circumferential interruption region of at least one of the bearing/sealing rings is offset in the circumferential direction with respect to a circumferential interruption region of another one of the bearing/sealing rings.
Swaged shell
In one embodiment, there is disclosed an apparatus for decontaminating exhaust gasses. The apparatus includes a monolith catalytic substrate having a length and a width. The substrates length separates first and second opposed ends. The first end and second ends each have a one piece retention ring fitted thereon. The apparatus includes a housing having a length separating opposed, spaced apart open first and second ends. The housing has a side wall extending substantially unbroken there between to define a body having an interior space. The monolith catalytic substrate is disposed in said interior space. The housing has a greater length than said monolith catalytic substrate. The substrate is centered in the housing and the housing is swaged at the first and second ends respectively to engage the retention rings and retain the monolith catalytic substrate within the interior space in said housing.
