Drive device for a motor vehicle and method of operating such a drive device
A drive device for a motor vehicle includes an exhaust pipe and a secondary air device having a first secondary air path which feeds into the exhaust gas pipe. Disposed in the first secondary air path is a secondary air pump and a secondary air valve. To compensate, for example, fluctuations in the supply voltage of the secondary air pump, provision is made for arrangement in the secondary air path of a Laval nozzle which can be placed downstream of the secondary air valve.
AERODYNAMIC CATALYTIC CONVERTER
An improved catalytic converter includes a Coanda chamber assembly connected upstream of a catalytic reaction chamber, where the exhaust pipe is to be connected to the Coanda chamber assembly. The Coanda chamber assembly forms a Coanda chamber that has at least one narrower section and at least one wider section immediately downstream of the narrower section, with openings formed at the narrowest point of a narrower section. In operation, when engine exhaust gas is fed into the Coanda chamber, the gas pressure increases at the narrower section, and drops when the gas enters the wider section. As a result, air is sucked into the Coanda chamber via the openings and mixes with the exhaust gas. This lowers the exhaust temperature and enhances the efficiency of the catalytic reactions in the catalytic reaction chamber.
EXHAUST GAS COOLING DEVICE
The disclosure relates to an exhaust gas cooling device for an internal combustion engine, having a housing which can be connected to an exhaust gas line of the internal combustion engine and has an axis of symmetry and having a Venturi assembly coupled to the housing for introducing exhaust gas and ambient air and having an outlet line emitting an exhaust gas-ambient air mixture into the environment, wherein: the Venturi assembly has a Venturi channel which can be coupled fluidically to the exhaust gas line and an inlet opening delimited by the Venturi channel and the exhaust gas line for ambient air; the Venturi channel is used to conduct an exhaust gas-ambient air mixture and opens, with the inlet opening, into a mixing chamber; the Venturi channel has an outlet opening and the outlet opening has an inflow opening, wherein the outlet opening and the inflow opening are spaced apart from one another; the Venturi channel and the outlet line, with the inflow opening, open into the housing.
Methods and systems for exhaust particulate matter sensing
Methods and systems are provided for a PM sensor. In one example, a method comprises flowing exhaust gas to a cone-shaped PM sensor having a pair of openings arranged across from one another and a plurality of outlets distal to the pair of openings.
Exhaust system and method of using
A vortex generator for an exhaust system includes an annular bearing for mounting on an interior surface of an exhaust line. The vortex generator further includes a flow splitter mounted on the annular bearing. The flow splitter includes a leading face with an upstream opening. The flow splitter further includes a trailing face with a downstream opening, wherein the upstream opening and the downstream opening are centered around a longitudinal axis of the exhaust line. The flow splitter further includes a side extending from the leading face to the trailing face, wherein the side has a plurality of openings, each opening of the plurality of openings containing a blade, and wherein a trailing side of each blade faces the longitudinal axis.
Hedge trimmer
A hedge trimmer has at least one cutting blade and an internal combustion engine operatively connected to the at least one cutting blade so as to drive the at least one cutting blade reciprocatingly. The internal combustion engine has an exhaust gas muffler with an outlet for discharging exhaust gases from the exhaust gas muffler. A multi-part exhaust gas pipe is connected seal-tightly to the outlet of the exhaust gas muffler and connects the outlet of the exhaust gas muffler to an outlet opening where the exhaust gases exit from the hedge trimmer. The multi-part exhaust gas pipe has a plurality of pipe sections, including at least a first pipe section and a second pipe section, wherein the second pipe section is embodied separate from the first pipe section. At least one of the plurality of pipe sections is made of plastic material.
Exhaust gas pressure regulator for a combustion engine
An exhaust gas pressure regulator for a combustion engine includes a regulator housing and an inner diffuser assembly arranged inside the regulator housing so that an exhaust gas flow duct is formed between an inner surface of the regulator housing and an outer surface of the inner diffuser assembly. The inner diffuser assembly includes a front portion and a regulating piston that is moveable relative to the front portion and the regulator housing between an idle position in which the exhaust gas flow duct is open, and a pressurized position in which the regulating piston at least partly closes the exhaust gas flow duct. The inner diffuser assembly includes at least one throttled flow passage between the gas flow duct and an exhaust gas pressure chamber defined by the regulating piston and an interior surface of the front portion.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FILTERING
Apparatus and methods for selectively transmitting objects of interest from a first reservoir to a second reservoir are disclosed. The apparatus includes electromagnetic focusing apparatus configured to interact with objects of interest to induce a change in a property of the objects of interest so as to increase the probability that the objects of interest through a throat diffusively coupling the first reservoir and the second reservoir.
ASPIRATION SYSTEM FOR A WORK VEHICLE
In one aspect, an aspiration system for a work vehicle may include an exhaust tube extending defining an exhaust passage therein. The exhaust tube may include a venturi portion, with the exhaust tube further defining an aperture within the venturi portion of the exhaust tube. The system may also include an aspiration tube configured to be coupled between the exhaust tube and a separate component of the work vehicle. The aspiration tube may define an aspiration passage extending between the separate component and the exhaust tube. The aperture defined by the exhaust tube may fluidly couple the aspiration passage and the exhaust passage. Furthermore, the system may include a restrictor body positioned within the exhaust passage. As such, the restrictor body and the venturi portion may be configured to adjust a flow parameter of exhaust gases flowing through the exhaust passage.
