Modular ventilation system

Modular ventilatory support systems and methods are disclosed in which a user may transition the system between a stationary configuration, an extended range configuration, and a stand-alone configuration. The modular components of the system include a compressor unit, a ventilator which may dock with the compressor unit, and a patient interface which may be connected to either the compressor unit or the ventilator unit. By rearranging these modular components into different configurations, mobility and duration of use may be optimized to fit the present needs. In the stationary configuration, mobility is most restricted, but duration of use is maximized. In the extended range configuration, mobility is enhanced, with duration of use limited by the battery power of the ventilator. In the stand-alone configuration, mobility is maximized, with duration of use limited by battery power of the ventilator and the quantity of an external gas supply.

Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes controllable fluid pathways. The cartridge may include a syringe pump for moving fluid and/or gas, and one or more syringe valves or rotary valves for controlling which of the controllable fluid pathways is open for flow of the fluid and/or gas.

PUMP CASSETTE AND METHODS FOR USE IN MEDICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM USING A PLURALITY OF FLUID LINES

A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.

Leak-resistant vaporizer device

Vaporizer cartridges and vaporizer apparatuses, and methods for making, using, and/or delivering vapor to a user are described. In some aspects, leak-resistant vaporizer cartridges and/or apparatuses adapted for use with oil-based vaporizable materials including cannabis oils are described.

ACOUSTIC DETECTION AND/OR ANALYSIS IN RESPIRATORY TREATMENT APPARATUS

An apparatus for treatment of a respiratory condition, the apparatus comprising: a pressure generator configured to generate a flow of breathable gas; an intermediate component pneumatically connected to an air delivery tube, the intermediate component comprising a port configured to facilitate propagation of sound outside of the intermediate component; a sensor attached externally to the intermediate component and located adjacent to the port of the intermediate component, the sensor configured to sense sound propagated through the air delivery tube; and a controller. The controller can be configured to: receive a sound signal generated by the sensor as a result of sensing sound during operation of the apparatus, analyse the received sound signal, and effect a response based at least in part on the analysing.

SELF-CONTAINED FACE MASK SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC DROPLET DISPENSER FOR HUMIDIFICATION
20230110218 · 2023-04-13 ·

Introduced here is a self-contained face mask system with an automated liquid-droplet dispensing mechanism (ADM) for humidification. The enclosure of the self-contained mask system can be comprised of one or more layers of breathable fabric adapted to flexibly conform to the face of a user when worn to form a cavity that is adjacent the nostrils and mouth. The ADM of the face mask system can be comprised of a reservoir in which liquid is stored, a respiratory cycle detector, a timer and controller, and a droplet dispenser that controllably dispenses droplets of the liquid from the reservoir into the cavity for inhalation by the user. The ADM can be contained entirely within the face mask enclosure or supported on the surface of the face mask enclosure such that the self-contained mask system, when worn by a user, can be supported entirely by the head and neck of the user.
