An insertion-ejection opening opens in a housing case body of a housing case. A tank is inserted into and ejected from a housing space of the housing case body through the insertion-ejection opening of the housing case body. A portion of an upper-side internal surface of the housing case body forms a case slant surface slanted relative to a surface that is perpendicular to a height direction. In addition, the case slant surface faces toward a side of the insertion-ejection opening. A second discharge opening opens in the case slant surface. A portion of an external surface of the tank forms a tank slant surface slanted relative to the surface that is perpendicular to the height direction. A discharge tank aperture opens in the tank slant surface. In a state in which the tank is housed in the housing case body, the tank slant surface faces the case slant surface.

Systems and Methods for Generating Nitric Oxide

Systems and methods for nitric oxide generation are provided. In an embodiment, an NO generation system can include a controller and disposable cartridge that can provide nitric oxide to two different treatments simultaneously. The disposable cartridge has multiple purposes including preparing incoming gases for exposure to the NO generation process, scrubbing exhaust gases for unwanted materials, characterizing the patient inspiratory flow, and removing moisture from sample gases collected. Plasma generation can be done within the cartridge or within the controller. The system has the capability of calibrating NO and NO.sub.2 gas analysis sensors without the use of a calibration gas.

MINIATURIZED PATCH PUMP SYSTEM
20220339348 · 2022-10-27 ·

A patch pump system that has an electronic assembly, a reservoir for containing a fluid, and an inserter for selectively transitioning a needle from a retracted position to an extended position. The inserter provides a fluid channel that selectively fluidly couples a distal tip of the needle to the reservoir. The needle is at least partially deformed as it transitions from the retracted position to the extended position and the electronic assembly selectively distributes fluid from the reservoir to the distal tip of the needle.

Electrodes for nitric oxide generation

Systems and methods for nitric oxide (NO) generation systems are provided. In some embodiments, an NO generation system comprises at least one pair of electrodes configured to generate a product gas containing NO from a flow of a reactant gas. The electrodes have elongated surfaces such that a plasma produced is carried by the flow of the reactant gas and glides along the elongated surfaces from a first end towards a second end of the electrode pair. A controller is configured to regulate the amount of NO in the product gas by the at least one pair of electrodes using one or more parameters as an input to the controller. The one or more parameters include information from a plurality of sensors configured to collect information relating to at least one of the reactant gas, the product gas, and a medical gas into which the product gas flows.

POROUS STRUCTURES FOR EXTENDED RELEASE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES

A therapeutic device for extended release drug delivery including a refillable reservoir configured to receive a therapeutic agent and having an outlet for delivery of the therapeutic agent to a patient from the reservoir over an extended period. A porous structure is coupled near the outlet of the reservoir, the porous structure formed of sintered material. A barrier layer is coupled to the reservoir on or adjacent a surface of the porous structure such that the therapeutic agent passes through both the porous structure and the barrier layer upon delivery from the reservoir through the outlet. The porous structure is tuned to deliver the therapeutic agent at a diffusion rate and the barrier layer is adapted to block passage of particles having an average particle size within an average particle size range that is outside an average particle size range blocked by the porous structure. Related methods and systems are provided.

Peritoneal Dialysis System with Constant Volume Disposable Pump

In one aspect, a peritoneal dialysis (PD) system includes a housing that receives a disposable cassette, a plurality of pinch valves that receive respective sections of fluid tubing of the disposable cassette, an air port that forms an airtight seal with an air line of the disposable cassette, an air pump that alternatingly pushes air out of the air port and pulls air in from the air port, and a computer processor that controls the plurality of pinch valves and the air pump such that the cassette performs a dwell phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps fresh dialysate from a dialysate bag to a heater bag, a fill phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps the fresh dialysate from the heater bag to a patient line, and a drain phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps spent dialysate form the patient to a drain.

Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system

Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system. A flapper valve unit is secured to a head of a cap. A filter element is positioned within a shell. Basket hands of the filter element are fitted between first pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. Fingers of the shell are fitted between second pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. The cap is secured to the shell to cover an open distal end of the shell. A drip stop is secured to the proximal end base of the shell to seat within the outlet opening. Ears may be fitted through holes defined by the flapper valve unit and cap holes defined by the cap so as to snap lock to the head of the cap. The hub of the flapper valve unit may be compressed with the ears snap locked to the head of the cap.
