Surgical gas delivery system with remote gaseous sealing module for maintaining stable pressure in a surgical cavity

A system for performing an endoscopic surgical procedure in a surgical cavity of a patient that includes a gas delivery device configured to deliver a flow of pressurized gas to a gas delivery lumen extending therefrom, a gaseous sealing module communicating with a distal end of the gas delivery lumen and configured to generate a gaseous seal within a gas sealed lumen extending therefrom, and an access port communicating with a distal end of the gas sealed lumen so as to provide sealed instrument access to the surgical cavity and maintain a stable pressure within the surgical cavity.

VALVE MODULE AND FILTER

A filter for an apparatus for delivering a flow of gas, the filter comprising: a filter body, wherein the filter body has a main compartment and a sub-compartment at least partly within the main compartment, wherein the main compartment is in fluid communication with a main compartment gases inlet and the sub-compartment is in fluid communication with a sub-compartment gases inlet; and a filter medium associated with both the main compartment and the sub-compartment, and that is arranged to filter gases in, or exiting, the main compartment and the sub-compartment.

DIALYSIS MACHINE

A disposable cartridge for use in a hemodialysis machine has a blood flow path for carrying a volume of blood to be treated in a dialyser and a dialysate flow path, isolated from the blood flow path, for delivering a flow of dialysate solution through the dialyser. The cartridge is received in an engine section of the machine. The engine section has first and second platens which close when the cartridge is inserted to retain the cartridge. Actuators and sensors arranged on the second platen control operation of the cartridge.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TISSUE SPECIMEN COLLECTION

A system and method for retaining a tissue specimen obtained via a collection tube is provided. Embodiments provide a system including a collection device removably and serially disposed between a collection tube and a suction tube so as to allow fluid communication therebetween via the collection device. The collection device includes a screen for retaining a tissue specimen drawn into the collection device by and towards the suction tube while allowing any fluid accompanying the tissue to be drawn through the collection device and into the suction tube. The system also includes one or more end caps for sealing the collection device such that the collection device may store and/or transport the retained tissue specimen in a preservation fluid. A system for identifying and organizing collection devices retaining tissue specimens from various anatomical regions is also provided.

ULTRASONIC BREATH ACTUATED RESPIRATORY DROPLET DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE

An ultrasonic droplet delivery device and related methods for delivering precise and repeatable amounts of a substance to a user for respiratory use is disclosed. The ultrasonic droplet delivery device generally comprises a body housing, a mouthpiece having an ejector mechanism, and a fluid cartridge having at least one fluid reservoir. In certain embodiments, the ejector mechanism may comprise at least one ultrasonic actuator and at least one aperture plate with a plurality of openings formed through its thickness for ejecting droplets. The device may further comprise at least one differential pressure sensor configured to activate the ejector mechanism upon sensing a pre-determined pressure change within the device to thereby generate the ejected stream of droplets.

CAPSULES INCLUDING INTERNAL FILTERS, HEAT-NOT-BURN (HNB) AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICES, AND METHODS OF GENERATING AN AEROSOL

A capsule for an aerosol-generating device may include a housing, a filter, and an aerosol-forming substrate. The housing may have a gas-permeable end and an impermeable end. The filter may be disposed within the housing so as to be adjacent to the impermeable end. The aerosol-forming substrate may be disposed within the housing so as to be between the filter and the gas-permeable end. The housing may be configured to facilitate a heating of the aerosol-forming substrate via one of conduction, convection, or both conduction and convection so as to generate an aerosol.

Surgical gas delivery device with internal gaseous sealing module and filtered tube set therefor

Waste Collection Unit Including A Reservoir Supported On A Portable Cart For Storing Liquid When Positioned Away From A Docking Station

A waste collection unit for collecting waste material. A reservoir is supported on a portable cart for storing a liquid on the portable cart when positioned away from a docking station. A sprinkler may be coupled to the waste container and in fluid communication with the reservoir. The sprinkler is configured to direct the liquid from the reservoir towards the waste container. The reservoir is configured to receive additional liquid from the docking station to urge the liquid from the reservoir towards the sprinkler. A prefill pump may be supported on the portable cart and in fluid communication with the waste container and operable to convey the liquid from the reservoir to the waste container. A controller may be in electronic communication with a valve assembly to control flow of the liquid from the docking station into at least one of the reservoir and a second waste container.

FILTERING SYSTEMS AND FILTERING MANIFOLDS FOR USE WITH FILTERING SYSTEMS

Filtering device for filtering cerebrospinal fluid are disclosed. An example filtering device may include a filter housing having an inlet for receiving cerebrospinal fluid from a patient and an outlet for returning filtered cerebrospinal fluid to the patient. The filter housing may include a plurality of layers coupled together and defining a fluid pathway therein between the inlet and the outlet.
