Detection of differential pressure sensor replacement
A method for detecting a replacement of a differential pressure sensor arranged for measuring a differential pressure across a filter of an aftertreatment system of a vehicle. The method includes determining a sensor offset value being an offset from a sensor value measured with a differential pressure sensor; adding an adaption value to the measured sensor value to compensate for the offset value to centre the sensor value around a predetermined level; if a sum of a subsequently measured sensor value and the adaption value exceeds a limit value, concluding that the differential pressure sensor has been replaced.
Method for heating exhaust gas purification devices, emission control system, and motor vehicle
A method for heating a first exhaust gas purification device and a second exhaust gas purification device of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, has the following steps: determining a first actual temperature of the first device and a second actual temperature of the second device, determining a first setpoint temperature of the first device and a second setpoint temperature of the second device by means of a heating coordination device, determining a first heat demand of the first device and a second heat demand of the second device, creating a heating specification for the first device and for the second device, relaying the heating specification to an engine control device of the motor vehicle, and controlling the internal combustion engine by means of the engine control device as a function of the heating specification.
Exhaust Gas After-Treatment System Of An Engine Designed As Gas Engine Or Dual-Fuel Engine, Engine And Method For Operating The Same
The exhaust gas after-treatment system of an engine configured as a gas engine or as a dual-fuel engine includes a catalyst, that can be flowed through by exhaust gas, a control tube extending through a recess in the catalyst, which control tube is movable relative to the catalyst and is flowable through by exhaust gas, and an actuator which is equipped to move the control tube relative to the catalyst dependent on at least one operating condition of the engine and/or at least one operating condition of the exhaust gas after-treatment system such that in a first relative position of the control tube relative to the catalyst, the catalyst can be flowed through by exhaust gas but not the control tube, and in a second relative position of the control tube relative to the catalyst, the control tube can be flowed through by the exhaust gas but not the catalyst.
CATALYST FOR PURIFICATION OF EXHAUST GAS
A catalyst for purification of exhaust gas including a substrate, and a catalyst coat layer which is formed on a surface of the substrate and contains catalyst particles, wherein the catalyst coat layer has an average thickness ranging 25 to 150 μm, a void fraction, as determined by scanning electron microscope observation of a cross-section of the catalyst coat layer, ranging 1.5 to 8.0% by volume, 60 to 90% by volume of all voids in the catalyst coat layer are high-aspect ratio pores which have equivalent circle diameters ranging 2 to 50 μm in a cross-sectional image of a cross-section of the catalyst coat layer perpendicular to a flow direction of exhaust gas in the substrate, and which ratios of 5 or higher, the high-aspect ratio pores have an average aspect ratio ranging 10 to 50, and a noble metal is supported on the entire catalyst coat layer.
DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER REGENERATION SYSTEM
Methods and systems are provided for regeneration of a particulate filter including a filter body having a filter paper looped along a plurality of rolling guides. At least one rolling guide may be a roller heater having a motor and a heater. Activation of the roller heater based on a pressure difference across the particulate filter regenerates the particulate filter during a regeneration phase and positions a regenerated section of the filter paper for trapping soot in a subsequent soot loading phase.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR AN ENGINE
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust bypass valve and a heat exchanger upstream of a three-way valve. In one example, a method may include flowing exhaust gas through one or more of an exhaust passage, bypass passage, recirculating passage, and EGR passage based on positions of a three-way valve and a bypass valve.
PROGNOSTIC ALERT STRATEGY FOR REDUCTANT PUMP IN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM FOR ENGINE
Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system includes receiving fluid pressure data of a reductant pump, determining a pump operating state, and comparing a pump health parameter to a prognostic pump failure criterion based upon the determining a pump operating state. Operating an engine exhaust aftertreatment system further includes outputting a pump health alert based upon a difference between the pump health parameter and the prognostic pump failure criterion. Related control logic is also disclosed.
Method for Determining a Soot Load of a Particle Filter Provided with a Selective Catalytic Coating
A method for determining a soot load on a particle filter provided with a selective catalytic coating is disclosed. The method includes determining a nitric oxide conversion on the particle filter and determining a soot load on the particle filter from the determined nitric oxide conversion.
Reductant dosing system for an SCR catalyst
The present application provides a reductant dosing system for an SCR catalyst comprising an injector, a storage tank and a reductant pump arranged in a first fluid line between the storage tank and the injector for pumping reductant from the storage tank to the injector. The reductant dosing system comprises pressurizing means for pressurizing the storage tank.
