Scrubber for exhaust gas cleaning
A scrubber for exhaust gas cleaning onboard a marine vessel, comprising a scrubber shell (12) forming a scrubber chamber; and a tubular pipe (18) running through the scrubber shell for feeding scrubber liquid into the scrubber chamber; a concave bowl (32) for connecting the tubular pipe to the scrubber shell, the concave bowl having the shape of a solid of revolution, and the shape curving smoothly from the rim (46) of the concave bowl to the bottom (48) of the concave bowl. The tubular pipe runs through the bottom of the concave bowl in such a way that the bottom encircles the tubular pipe, and the tubular pipe and the bottom are connected to each other. The concave bowl is placed in an opening (34) in the scrubber shell in such a way that the scrubber shell encircles the rim of the concave bowl, and the scrubber shell and the rim are connected to each other.
Gas treatment processes and systems for reducing tail gas emissions
Gas treatment systems and processes for reducing tail gas emissions such as SO.sub.2, SO.sub.3, H.sub.2SO.sub.4, NOx, HC, CO, and other pollutants are provided. The processes include transferring tail gas from at least one source of tail gas to at least one destination sulphuric acid plant via a tail gas transfer system, wherein the tail gas replaces or supplements one or more of the combustion gas, air feed, dilution gas, and quench gas used by the destination sulphuric acid plant. The systems include at least one destination sulphuric acid plant and a tail gas transfer system for transferring tail gas from at least one source of tail gas to the at least one destination sulphuric acid plant. The systems and processes described herein may be used to eliminate start-up emissions and/or convert sulphur-containing species present in tail gas emissions into commercial H.sub.2SO.sub.4.
NOx sensor control device and NOx sensor control method
A NOx sensor control device is connected to a NOx sensor mounted in an internal combustion engine. The NOx sensor has a detection cell configured to detect a NOx concentration and having a solid electrolyte body and a pair of electrodes provided on a surface of the solid electrolyte body and a heater heating the detection cell. The NOx sensor control device has a heater control unit. The heater control unit is configured to, at a time when an operation of the internal combustion engine stops, perform a recovery control of the NOx sensor which is an electric current control of the heater for removing SOx adsorbed to the NOx sensor.
Reactive cyclic induction system and method for reducing pollutants in marine diesel exhaust
A system and method for reduction of Nitrogen Oxide emissions from marine engines by converting Nitrogen Oxide into Nitrogen is disclosed. The modular reactive cyclic induction apparatus connects to the exhaust of a conventional diesel marine engine and uses air pressure and the sodium chloride in seawater to create a molecular reaction to break down Nitrogen Oxide into Nitrogen by use of an induction apparatus. The system can also include a loop for removing Carbon Dioxide through electrolysis, and removes other environmental pollutants as well, including for example Sulphur oxides, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter during the process.
Gas scrubber for desulphurising flue gases on a ship
Described and depicted is a gas scrubber, in particular for desulphurising flue gases, preferably for installation on a ship, having a scrubber housing and a gas pipe arranged underneath the scrubber housing for guiding the gas to be scrubbed in the scrubber housing, wherein the scrubber housing has a scrubber chamber delimited by a scrubber base, a scrubber head and a scrubber shell provided between the scrubber base and the scrubber head. In order to achieve a more reliable operation, it is provided that a gas supply for the lateral introduction of gas via at least one opening into the scrubber chamber is provided in the region of the scrubber shell.
