Disclosed herein is a process for producing an animal feed having a defined nutritional profile from food waste. The process comprises accumulating successive batches of a plurality of food wastes that have been macerated and dehydrated, every batch of each of the plurality of food wastes having been sourced from the same one of a plurality of categorized producers of food waste and maintained separately at all times from others of the plurality of food wastes; independently mixing each of the accumulated batches of the macerated and dehydrated food wastes to produce a plurality of homogenized ingredients for an animal feed; analysing each of the homogenized ingredients to determine one or more nutritional parameters of the ingredient; and blending two or more of the homogenized ingredients to produce the animal feed having a defined nutritional profile.

The pet chews are made of at least one piece of bovine corium and at least one piece of fish skin, the fish skin having a scale side that is preferably oriented away from the piece of bovine corium, the corium and fish skin being rolled into a desired shape, preferably a cylinder, and treated with dry heat to form gelatinous adhesive in the corium and fish skin, in situ, which couples the corium and fish skin. The layered dehydrated collagen pet chew has improved flavor and textural characteristics.

The disc target includes one or more natural ingredients that are readily available and typically inexpensive. The disclosed disc targets are biodegradable and can be consumed by local wildlife. Preferred embodiments of the disc targets are primarily made of alfalfa and/or other natural ingredients such as corn starch that can be used as a binding agent. The disc target can be utilized for shooting sports, such as trap or skeet shooting, as the disclosed disc targets are able to withstand the force of being launched in the air but also easily shatter when hit by only a few pellets from a shotgun.

A method for manufacturing a sustainable pet food product is disclosed, including the steps of first mixing a plurality of sustainable ingredients including adding and mixing one or more one or more virgin materials from at least one of the following: one or more dairy products, one or more meat and poultry products, one or more fish products, one or more egg products, and a rendered protein meals. Next, one or more vitamins and one or more minerals are added and mixed to the plurality of sustainable ingredients to create a dough. The dough is pressure cooked in a pressure cooking vessel and then extruded, via an extruder, the dough to create a plurality of ribbons. A rotary blade cuts the plurality of ribbons to create a wet kibble which is then dried. Once dried, the kibble is coated with one or more flavorants which are then dried to a surface of the dry kibble to produce a sustainable pet food product. Further, methods for producing a sustainable food product from unsold and unused produce using virgin cereal grains, fruits, and/or vegetables are disclosed.
