A NOZZLE FOR COOLING ENGINE PISTONS
The present invention relates to a cooling jet nozzle (10) for an engine piston. The nozzle (10) comprises a cooling stream pathway (14), in which the internal cross-sectional dimensions of the pathway vary along the length of the pathway; and a plunger (28) located within the cooling stream pathway to impinge a cooling feedstream received within the pathway to provide a cooling jet. The plunger (28) is axially moveable within the pathway to adjust the internal cross-sectional dimensions of the cooling jet.
Engine Device
An engine device including a cylinder head provided with a plurality of air-intake passages for taking fresh air into a plurality of air-intake ports and a plurality of exhaust gas passages for emitting exhaust gas from a plurality of exhaust gas ports. An air-intake manifold which aggregates the air-intake passages is formed integrally with one of left and right side portions of the cylinder head. An EGR cooler is coupled to a front surface of the cylinder head; and EGR gas passages and cooling water passages communicating with the EGR cooler are provided in a coupling portion of the cylinder head with the EGR cooler.
Oil supply element and piston of an internal combustion engine
An oil supply element for supplying oil into a cooling channel of a piston in an internal combustion engine, may include a channel having a lateral opening with an oil discharge element and may be configured to direct a partial oil flow via the oil discharge element and the lateral opening to at least one of an underside of a piston crown, a hub, and a piston interior.
Combustion-chamber structure of engine
A combustion-chamber structure of an engine comprises a combustion chamber which is partitioned by a cylinder block, a cylinder head, and a piston. The piston includes a piston body having an upper surface facing the combustion chamber, a heat-insulation layer provided at least in a central area, in a radial direction, of the upper surface and having smaller heat conductivity than the piston body, a heat-barrier layer provided to cover the upper surface and having smaller heat conductivity than the piston body and the heat-insulation layer, and a heat-diffusion layer provided between the heat-insulation layer and the heat-barrier layer and having larger heat conductivity than the heat-insulation layer and the heat-barrier layer. The heat-diffusion layer comprises a side end edge and an extension portion which contact with the piston body.
218-0266 VOLCANO-SHAPED INLET OF PISTON OIL-COOLING GALLERY
Methods and systems are provided for an oil gallery of a piston. In one example, a system for a piston comprising an internal oil gallery. The internal oil gallery comprises one or more of a funnel shaped inlet, a funnel shaped outlet, and a plurality of tongues extending along a circumference of the internal oil gallery.
COOLING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
A cooling device for a vehicle is provided, which includes a first coolant channel through which a first coolant for cooling an engine flows, a second coolant channel through which a second coolant for cooling a motor drive flows, and an oil channel through which oil for lubricating inside a transmission flows. The oil channel includes a first heat exchanger configured to exchange heat between the first coolant and the oil, a second heat exchanger configured to exchange heat between the second coolant and the oil, and a valve configured to adjust a first flow rate of the oil circulating through the first heat exchanger and a second flow rate of the oil circulating through the second heat exchanger.
Engine cooling systems for aircraft
An engine cooling system for a rotorcraft includes an engine having an engine cooling circuit, a hydraulic pump powered by the engine to pump hydraulic fluid, and a hydraulic circuit in fluid communication with the hydraulic pump and the engine cooling circuit, the hydraulic circuit including at least one hydraulic-powered component. The hydraulic pump is adapted to pump the hydraulic fluid through both the hydraulic circuit and the engine cooling circuit, thereby cooling the engine.
Systems and methods for controlling piston cooling nozzles using control valve actuator
A control system (10) used for an engine (14) having at least one cylinder (18) is provided for a piston cooling nozzle (PCN (12)). Included in the control system (10) are a main liquid rifle (20) configured to deliver a liquid to the at least one cylinder (18) of the engine (14), and a PCN liquid rifle (22) disposed inside the main liquid rifle (20) for directing the liquid from the main liquid rifle (20) to the PCN (12). The control system (10) causes the liquid to be jetted into the at least one cylinder (18) of the engine (14) for lowering a temperature of the engine (14).
Spark-ignited internal combustion engine
A top surface of the piston includes a first region. A heat shielding film is formed on the first area. The top surface further includes a second region. There is no heat shielding film formed on the second region. Instead, the second area is mirror-finished. The top surface includes a central portion. A valve recess portion is formed on an intake side of the central portion. A squish portion is formed the intake side of the valve recess portion. The first area includes at least the central portion. The second area includes at least the squish portion.
Piston of an internal-combustion engine
A piston of an internal-combustion engine may include a piston head and a piston skirt, a cooling duct circulating in the piston head, a boss for receiving a piston pin, and a feed hopper for supplying cooling oil into the cooling duct. The feed hopper may be fastened to another component of the piston via a retaining lug by at least one of a material closure, a force closure, and a positive closure.
