Arrangement and a control method of an engine cooling system

An engine cooling system in a vehicle comprises a first coolant circuit and a second coolant circuit connecting an engine to a radiator. A thermostat is arranged in the first coolant circuit and is arranged to be closed during engine warm-up, to prevent flow through the first coolant circuit. The cooling system further comprises a bypass circuit connecting the thermostat to the second coolant circuit and at least one parallel circuit. Each parallel circuit is connected to the second coolant circuit upstream of the bypass circuit, wherein a partial coolant flow is directed from the bypass circuit and upstream through the second coolant circuit into the at least one parallel circuit during engine warm-up. The disclosure further relates to a method for controlling such an engine cooling system.

A construction machine includes a cooling fan (10) and a shroud (11). The cooling fan (10) sends air drawn in via a radiator (30) to an engine. The shroud (11) is disposed on an outer peripheral side of the cooling fan and forms a passage for air to be drawn in via the radiator. The construction machine includes a tank (12) and a cover (14B). The tank (12) is disposed superior to an upper end portion of the radiator and stores cooling water to be supplied to the radiator and the engine. The cover (14B) is disposed openably in an opening (14A) formed in a top surface plate (11B) of the shroud. The tank (12) is disposed at a position adjacent to the shroud (11) on a side closer to the engine side than the cover (14B) is.

The invention relates to a tank used in an engine cooling system, the engine cooling system, and a work machine. The tank includes a housing and a partition which dividing the housing into an exhaust tank and an expansion tank which are sealed from each other. The exhaust tank includes a first connecting pipe and a second connecting pipe, the first connecting pipe being adapted to be fluidly connected to an engine cylinder jacket of the engine cooling system to introduce coolant into the exhaust tank, and the second connecting pipe being adapted to be fluidly connected to a heat exchanger of the engine cooling system to discharge the coolant into the heat exchanger. The expansion tank includes a third connecting pipe adapted to be fluidly connected to the engine cooling system. The tank further includes a guiding tube having a first end in communication with the exhaust tank, and a second end arranged in the expansion tank, so that gas contained in the coolant flowing through the exhaust tank is exported into the expansion tank through the guiding tube. The exhaust tank enables the gas in the coolant to be separated before entering the heat exchanger, and the thermal stress impact to the heat exchanger is reduced.
