Air duct for water ingress management in a vehicle

An air guide duct for water ingress management having at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet channel which has an upstream inlet opening in fluid communication with the at least one air inlet and a downstream outlet opening into at least one of the front wheel wells, whereby incoming air from the front end of the motor vehicle is guided into at least one of the front wheel wells. A bottom surface of the upstream inlet opening is disposed at a first vertical position and a bottom surface of the downstream outlet opening is disposed at a second vertical position, with the bottom surface of the downstream outlet opening being disposed lower than the bottom surface of the upstream inlet opening relative to the front wheel wells such that a height differential is defined between the first vertical position and the second vertical position.

Air box with integrated filter media

An apparatus and a method are provided for an air box with an integrated air filter to communicate air flow from an exterior of the air filter to an air intake of an automobile engine. The air filter comprises a filter material that surrounds at least a portion of an interior cavity of the air filter. An end cap is affixed to a distal end of the filter material, and a wire support extends along at least a portion of the exterior surface of the filter material. The air box comprises a housing portion and a mount portion. The housing portion is configured to direct air drawn through the filter material into the interior cavity of the air filter and then into the air intake of the automobile engine. The mount portion is configured to support the air box and the air filter once installed within an automobile engine bay.

A method for cleaning an air duct, in particular an air duct of a rail vehicle. The need to cool at least one load connected to the air duct is determined, the need to clean the air duct is determined, and a cleaning process of the air duct is initiated if there is no or a low need to cool the at least one load connected to the air duct and if there is a need to clean the air duct. There is also described an air intake system.

FLUID DRAINAGE TOOL

A fluid drainage tool and method for utilizing the same is disclosed. The fluid drainage tool includes one or more pairs of vacuum members and a mechanical clamping mechanism. The mechanical clamping mechanism is coupled to the one or more pairs of vacuum members and is adapted to move the one or more pairs of vacuum members between an unclamped configuration and a clamped configuration. In the unclamped configuration, a gap formed by each of the one or more pairs of the vacuum members is larger than an original outer diameter of a pliable tube. In the clamped configuration, the gap is smaller than the original outer diameter of the pliable tube. In the clamped configuration, the one or more pairs of vacuum members compresses the pliable tube and generates a suction force within the pliable tube when translated along the pliable tube.

Variable Pitch Fan Control System

A fan control system for a variable pitch fan of a work vehicle includes a blade pitch module that adjust a pitch of a plurality of blades of the variable pitch fan to generate airflow in a first direction. A reversing module selectively commands a fan reversal that includes instructing the blade pitch module to temporarily adjust the pitch of the plurality of blades to generate airflow in a second direction. A first timer module, in response to the reversing module commanding the fan reversal, resets and increments a first timer and compares the first timer to a first threshold. A first reversal prevention module, in response to the first timer being less than the first threshold, prevents the reversing module from commanding a fan reversal by indicating that a first type of fan reversal is not permitted.

Vehicle engine flushing machine with heating and reverse flow

A fluid flushing machine for a vehicle engine component uses a pre-heated cleaner/fluid to increase the effectiveness of the cleaning procedure and reduce the time needed to clean the component. The invention is designed to clean air charged coolers, EGR valves, EGR coolers, and other components that over time have become contaminated with carbon build up, oil, and debris. The machine of the present invention has the option to direct heated cleaning fluid through the vehicle engine's cooling system to remove carbon build up, oil, and debris in the vehicle's EGR valve and cooler component. The machine of the present invention is adapted to perform the operation in an engine-off condition by incorporating an integrated or external electronic device to open the vehicle's EGR valve to allow the cleaning fluid to flow through the engine while it is turned off.

ELECTRONIC FILTER DETECTION FEATURE FOR LIQUID FILTRATION SYSTEMS

A filter monitor system (“FMS”) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (“ECM”) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.
