LOCKING MECHANISM FOR AN AEROSOL DISPENSER
20220047823 · 2022-02-17 ·

A locking mechanism for an aerosol dispenser is presented having a first body structure, a second body structure rotatably attached to the first body structure, a spindle rotatably attached to the second body structure, the spindle having an actuator rotationally cooperating with the first body structure such that rotation of the first body structure relative to the second body structure causes rotation of the actuator and of the spindle, a movable element arranged around the spindle, the spindle being rotatable relative to the movable element, wherein rotation of the spindle causes movement of the movable element along the spindle from an initial position to a final position, and a locking element, wherein in the final position the movable element applies a radial force onto the locking element causing the locking element to bend in the radial direction thereby preventing rotation between the first body structure and the second body structure.

Auto-injector with active agent container latching
11426529 · 2022-08-30 · ·

In an elongated casing, an active agent container connected to an injection needle can be shifted axially by a spring force. Auto-injectors distributed pre-filled and with the springs tensed may be provided with a needle protecting cap to ensure sterility of the needle. When the needle protecting cap is removed as preparation for using the auto-injector, a tensile force can be exerted on the active agent container. Therefore, the active agent container and needle must be prevented from being undesirably pulled forwards. At least one latching tongue prevents the active agent container from being prematurely shifted with respect to the casing, by abutting a flange arranged on a sliding sleeve accommodating the active agent container. When the auto-injector is placed onto the skin, a needle protecting tube is shifted into the casing, forcing the latching tongue away from the flange, thereby freeing the travel path for needle movement.

A first portion (12) of the fluid chamber (4) extends along the length of the collar portion (10) in a height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4), A second portion (14) of the fluid chamber (4) is arranged adjacent to the first portion (12) in the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4). A lateral extension of the first portion (12) in the directions perpendicular to the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4) is smaller than a lateral extension of the second portion (14) in the directions perpendicular to the height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4). Further, the invention relates to a fluid reservoir (2′) for an aerosol generator (50), the fluid reservoir (2′) comprising a fluid chamber (4′) for receiving a fluid (6′), an opening (8′) for guiding the fluid (6′) received in the fluid chamber (4′) outside the fluid chamber (4′), a recess (9) arranged at least partly below the opening (8!) in a height direction (H) of the fluid chamber (4′), and a cover member (30′) which releasably or permanently seals the recess (9). Moreover, the invention relates to an aerosol generator (50) comprising the fluid reservoir (2, 2′).

Dispensing device

A dispensing device is provided to dispense a designated amount of a material on every dose delivery operation. The dispensing device includes a thumb pad, a cam drum coupled to the thumb pad, and a pawl nut comprising a one-way pawl. The thumb pad may be pulled out in a direction away from a distal end of the dispensing device for setting a dose of the material to be dispensed out and may be pushed in towards the distal end for delivering the dose. The cam drum includes a plurality of linear cam profiles and a plurality of helical cam profiles that may be disposed on a surface of the cam drum.
