INGESTIBLE MEDICAL DEVICE
An ingestible medical device that includes an ingestible capsule. Within the ingestible capsule is a non-refillable drug dispenser containing a therapeutic agent. The capsule can also include a real-time clock. A controller within the capsule can be operatively connected to the drug dispenser and can include a memory module and a processor operable to execute a software application stored on the memory module to control the operation of the drug dispenser to administer the therapeutic agent according to a real-time schedule measured via the real-time clock. The ingestible medical device can also include an iontophoretic circuit or system for drug delivery as well as physiological sensors to detect the occurrence or worsening of a medical condition.
ASSEMBLY FOR EXTRACORPOREAL TREATMENT OF BODY FLUIDS
A method for extracorporeal treatment of a body fluid of a patient suffering from sepsis, in an extracorporeal flow line, comprising removing at least one harmful substance from the body fluid of the patient. In a first injection step, a first mixture containing functionalized magnetic particles bound to at least a first binding agent at least directed against a first type of target molecules contained in the body fluid is added to the extracorporeal flow line comprising a sample of the body fluid extracted from a patient and containing at least the first type of target molecules. The first mixture is injected in a therapeutically effective dose necessary to reduce a concentration of the target molecules of at least the first type in the body fluid sample of the patient, followed by a mixing step and a separation step for reduction of the target molecule concentration.
VENTILATION MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A ventilation monitoring system includes one or more processors configured to receive data from a sensor positioned along a breathing circuit during a mechanical ventilation procedure for a patient. The one or more processors are also configured to analyze the data to determine respective concentrations of ions at the sensor and to calculate a detected ratio of the respective concentrations of the ions at the sensor. The one or more processors are also configured to compare the detected ratio to an expected ratio to determine a condition of the patient and to output a notification to indicate the condition of the patient.
Computer controlled dosage system
Disclosed is a computer controlled dosage system, for dosage adjustment for a mobile, hand held, inhaler for delivering a dosage of a medicine, is provided. The system comprises at least one measuring device for measuring at least one parameter; and a handheld mobile computer separate from the inhaler, the computer being configured to communicate with the at least one measuring device and with a remote memory for sending and receiving information to and from patient medical records of the remote memory for storage in a memory of the computer, and the computer being configured to receive a manual input for storage in the memory of the computer. The computer is configured to create a data set for setting a plurality of levels of different dosages of medicine based on the medicine used by the inhaler, the information from the patient's medical records of the remote memory, and the manual input; and the computer is further configured to store the data set in the memory of the computer. The computer is further configured to generate an indication indicating a dosage adjustment for the inhaler, based on the at least one parameter and on one of the plurality of levels of dosage of the data set, the indication indicating one of the plurality of levels of dosage of the data set as the dosage adjustment for the inhaler. A dosage regime generated by the computer controlled dosage system is also disclosed.
Display for outputting information contents of medical devices
A display for outputting information contents of at least one parameter, adjustment value or measurement value of medical devices within at least one display region, wherein the at least one display region is in the form of a tachometer-like display.
VIBRATING PILLOW STRIP AND OPERATING METHODS
Introduced are methods and systems for: gathering human biological signals, such as heart rate, respiration rate, or temperature; analyzing the gathered human biological signals; and controlling a vibrating pillow strip based on the analysis.
Valve actuation systems and related methods
In one aspect, a valve actuation system includes a drive unit including an actuator configured to engage and move multiple valves disposed within a fluid cassette to selectively open and close each valve of the multiple valves and a positioning frame disposed adjacent the fluid cassette and along which the drive unit can be moved in three dimensions to align the actuator with a selected valve of the multiple valves.
INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN DIALYSIS TREATMENT
A dialysis treatment system for hemodialysis includes a processor to acquire blood flow information and patient biological information in a blood circuit for hemodialysis, the patient biological information being peripheral vascular resistance information, blood pressure information, face information, body movement information, temperature information, and humidity information and to acquire patient individual difference information from the blood related information; and to perform dialysis treatment for the patients on the basis of the patient individual difference information.
