COOLING STRUCTURE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A cooling structure of an engine includes a cylinder head and a coolant temperature sensor. The cylinder head gas a first water jacket for cooling a combustion chamber and a second water jacket for cooling an exhaust manifold. The cylinder head includes a joining portion where coolants from the first water jacket and the second water jacket join together. The joining portion has a first coolant passage. A second coolant passage is disposed downstream of the joining portion. The temperature sensing portion is disposed in the second coolant passage. A coolant outlet of the second water jacket is defined in the first coolant passage, and is located at a position on the cylinder head cover attachment surface side in the first coolant passage. The temperature sensing portion is located at a position on the cylinder block attachment surface side in the second coolant passage.

An engine system having a coolant control valve may include a cylinder head including an intake side head coolant jacket for cooling an intake side thereof and an exhaust side head coolant jacket for cooling an exhaust side thereof formed in the cylinder head, a cylinder block arranged on a lower side of the cylinder head and having an intake side block coolant jacket for cooling an intake side of the cylinder block and an exhaust side block coolant jacket for cooling an exhaust side cylinder block formed therein, and a coolant control valve arranged for independently controlling coolant flowing through the intake side head coolant jacket, the exhaust side head coolant jacket, the intake side block coolant jacket and the exhaust side block coolant jacket.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH HEAT RECOVERY AND METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A number of variations may include a thermal management system comprising: an engine, an exhaust heat recovery system, and a coolant system comprising a coolant circuit and a coolant pump wherein the coolant pump operates independently of the engine and is operated by an electronic control unit, and wherein the electronic control unit is constructed and arranged to operate the coolant pump after engine start up to limit coolant temperature below a predetermined value in and/or near the exhaust heat recovery system.
Cooling water control apparatus
A cooling water control apparatus has a setting device which sets a target heat amount line such that a condition where a transferred heat amount which is transferred to a heater core is equal to a required heat amount which is required by the heater core is satisfied at a desired time point at which the transferred heat amount starts to be actually used, the target heat amount line representing a successive target value of the transferred heat amount during a period until the desired time point; and a first controlling device which makes a cooling water circulate in a first pipe, stops the circulation of the cooling water in a second pipe and adjusts an output of an engine such that the transferred heat amount follows the target heat amount line.
Coolant control systems and methods for transmission temperature regulation
A coolant control system of a vehicle includes a pump control module and a coolant valve control module. The pump control module selectively activates a coolant pump. The coolant pump pumps coolant into coolant channels formed in an integrated exhaust manifold (IEM) of an engine. The coolant valve control module selectively actuates a coolant valve that controls coolant flow from the coolant channels formed in the IEM to a transmission heat exchanger based on a first temperature of a transmission and a second temperature of coolant within the integrated exhaust manifold of the engine.
OUTBOARD MOTOR
An outboard motor is provided with an upper separator disposed on the lower side of an oil case for storing a lubricating oil of an engine, and an extension case which is separably connected on the lower side of the upper separator. The upper separator has a central exhaust passage through which exhaust gas flows, and a cooling water flow part through which cooling water flows on the outside of the central exhaust passage, the central exhaust passage and the cooling water flow part forming an integrated structure. The exhaust gas and the cooling water are caused to mix in the extension case.
Cooling system for vehicle and controlling method thereof
A cooling system for a vehicle may include a cooling water temperature sensor, a cooling circulation fluid passage including first, second and third fluid passages, wherein the cooling water exhausted from the engine may be branched into the first fluid passage provided with a heater core, the second fluid passage provided with a radiator, and the third fluid passage provided with an exhaust heat recovery apparatus, a fluid flow adjusting valve provided on a point at which the cooling water passing through the cooling water temperature sensor may be branched into the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to adjust a flow of the cooling water, and a controlling part controlling the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to be selectively opened or closed by operating the fluid flow adjusting valve depending on the temperature of the cooling water, in a heating mode and a non-heating mode.
