Cover for liquid delivery system with integrated plunger position sensing using focused optical beam and linear potentiometer
A sliding cover for a liquid delivery device, such as a cap (100) for a pen injector (200), incorporates a set of sensors including an optical sensor (110) with an output which changes during uncapping or capping motions on passing of a plunger (220) of the pen injector. This output is used together with a position sensor (120) to determine the position of the plunger along a cylinder (210) of the liquid delivery device. By monitoring changes in the plunger position, the quantity of dosages delivered by the liquid delivery device can be determined, displayed, stored and/or transmitted to an external device for further data processing or storage. Preferred implementations of the invention employ optical sensors with a converging beam (115), and/or position sensors employing linear potentiometer strips (132).

The medical assistance device is connected to the medical device which is inserted into a biological lumen and is used in a procedure in the biological lumen. The medical assistance device includes a support, a winding unit which is rotatably provided about a support shaft with respect to the support and winds the medical device, and a connection section which is provided in the winding unit and is connected to an end portion of the medical device.
Negative pressure wound therapy leak alarm system
One implementation of the present disclosure is a method for dynamically controlling an alarm of a negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device, according to some embodiments. In some embodiments, the method includes initiating NPWT, comparing an initial pump duty to a threshold value to determine a dressing application quality, monitoring a leakage rate of the NPWT, setting a leak threshold value based on the dressing application quality, determining leakage event occurrences in response to the leakage rate exceeding the leak threshold value at multiple times, adjusting the leak threshold value based on at least one of a number of the leakage events over the time period, a time duration between sequentially occurring leakage events of the leakage events, and the dressing application quality, and causing a user interface device to display a leak alert in response to the leakage rate exceeding the adjusted leak threshold value.
Medication delivery device
The present disclosure relates to a dose detection system for use in combination with a medication delivery device in which a dose setting member rotates relative to an actuator during dose delivery. The dose detection system includes a module which is removably attached to the medication delivery device. The module includes a dosing component attached to the actuator during dose delivery. The dosing component includes a light source and a light sensor. A sensed element is attached to the dose setting member and includes surface features detectable by the light sensor.
Haptic Feedback of an Electronic Medical Device
Implementations of the present disclosure are directed to a medical handheld device that includes an actuating feature configured to generate a trigger signal, a sensor configured to detect a functionality of the medical handheld device in response to the trigger signal, and a haptic source configured to generate a haptic signal including information associated with the functionality of the medical handheld device.
DEVICE FOR ADMINISTERING A FLUID
A device for administering a fluid can include a cylinder, a piston connected to a piston rod, and a tensioning device connected to the piston rod. The tensioning device includes a ramp which is rotatable via a motor, a ramp track, and a roller which is in contact with the ramp track and which is mounted rotatably in a driver. The device can further include a front part, which includes the cylinder and the open dispensing end, and a rear part, which includes the tensioning device. The front part and the rear part can be formed from different materials.
URETHRAL CATHETERIZATION SYSTEM, URINARY CATHETER CONVEYING DEVICE THEREOF, AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A urinary catheter conveying device includes a sleeve member, a conveying assembly and a controller. The sleeve member is for sleeving onto a glans of a penis and has a guiding hole to be registered with an external urethral orifice of the glans. The conveying assembly includes a casing removably mounted to the sleeve member, and a conveying mechanism for advancing the urinary catheter to the guiding hole such that the urinary catheter is inserted into the external urethral orifice. The controller controls the conveying mechanism to advance the urinary catheter to the guiding hole. A urinary catheterization system and a method of using the urinary catheterization system are also disclosed.
MEDICAL THERAPY SYSTEMS WITH STATE-SPACE DEFINED CONSTRAINTS, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A closed-loop control for a medical therapeutic system is disclosed that includes one or more processes or components for/in the medical therapeutic system, a controller configured to determine whether one or more operations of the process(es) or component(s) are within a corresponding safety envelope, and one or more sensors. The process(es)/component(s) are configured to deliver a controlled amount of a substance, energy or force to a patient. The sensor(s) are configured to measure or determine a value of a measurable parameter of the process(es)/component(s) and/or effected by the operation(s), and provide the value(s) of the measurable parameter(s) to the controller. The controller determines whether each of the operation(s) are within the corresponding safety envelope according to a corresponding function that mathematically describes the operation. The safety envelope corresponds to known safe values of the measurable parameter, or an unmeasured parameter based on the measurable parameter.
