Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include first and second storage chambers each configured to hold a respective fraction of a vaporizable material, a vaporization chamber that includes an elongate member that is in fluid communication with the first and second storage chambers and configured to receive the vaporizable material, a magnetic element disposed within a channel of the elongate member, and a conductive element that is configured to generate a first motive force to drive the magnetic element between first and second positions and further configured to substantially vaporize the vaporizable material within the elongate member. Vaporizer devices are also provided.
STERILIZATION MODULE AND STERILIZATION SYSTEM COMPRISING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are a sterilization module and a sterilization system including the same. The sterilization module includes a light source emitting germicidal light to kill pathogens in living cells. The living cells may include living cells and the pathogens. In addition, the germicidal light may be light in a wavelength band capable of ensuring a viability of 70% or more for the normal cells and a viability of less than 70% for the pathogens.
REMOTE CONFIGURATION OF A RESPIRATORY DEVICE
The present technology relates to systems and/or methods for enabling a respiratory device to be configured when a clinician or healthcare professional is remote from the respiratory device. One form provides a method of configuring a respiratory device, the respiratory device comprising a processor configured to control operation of the respiratory device in accordance with a plurality of operating parameters. The method comprises determining a combination of settings for the device from an identifier sent to the device, the identifier corresponding to the combination of settings, and configuring the respiratory device accordingly. Another form provides a method of verifying the configuration of the respiratory device by outputting an identifier corresponding to the combination of settings for the device, and determining the settings from the identifier.
NEEDLELESS INJECTOR
A needleless injector that ejects an injection substance to a target region without using an injection needle, the needleless injector includes: an injector body formed by a resin member; an igniter; a housing part in which the injection substance is accommodated; and a piston that is configured to be moved by ejection energy in a predetermined path, communicating with the combustion chamber, to pressurize the injection substance. A reinforcing member is provided inside the injector body, formed by a metal member to be a tubular member, and extends in an axial direction of the injector body while surrounding at least the igniter and the combustion chamber, the reinforcing member being disposed to be sandwiched between parts of the injector body in a radial direction of the injector body.
BLOOD TREATMENT MACHINE WITH AUTOMATIC FILL LEVEL MONITORING AND CONTROL OF AN AIR SEPARATOR BY MEANS OF PRESSURE PULSE FREQUENCY ANALYSIS
A blood treatment device for extracorporeal blood treatment and a method for monitoring the fill level of blood with the blood treatment device. The device includes at least one blood conducting system and at least one chamber container for separating bubbles from the blood to be treated. The device further includes a blood pumping device designed to pump the blood and generate pressure pulses with a predefined frequency in the blood conducting system. The blood treatment device additionally has at least one pressure detection sensor for capturing the pressure pulse introduced by the blood pumping device and a data processing unit designed to derive a fill level parameter from the pressure pulse captured and to modify the state of an information signal as a function of the fill level parameter. At least one alarm device is activated as a function of the state of the information signal.
CARTRIDGE FOR STORING A NO/NITROGEN MIXTURE, AND ASSOCIATED GAS DELIVERY INSTALLATION
Disclosed is a cartridge for storing pressurized gas, including a main body with an internal volume for storing a gaseous mixture NO/N.sub.2, and a distribution valve for controlling the output of the gas. The internal volume of the main body is less than 1000 ml. The concentration of NO in the gaseous mixture NO/N.sub.2 is between 15000 and 25000 ppmv. The gas pressure in the internal volume is below 15 bar, measured at 23° C. Installation for delivering gas to a patient, including such a gas cartridge, a NO supply device fed by the gas cartridge, and a medical ventilator feeding a patient circuit which has an inhalation branch fed by the NO supply device. Use for treating patients suffering from pulmonary hypertension or hypoxia.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETECTING USER INTERACTION WITH A RESPIRATORY THERAPY DEVICE
Disclosed are apparatus and methods of detecting user interaction with a respiratory therapy device and effecting an action in response to the detection. The apparatus comprises a sensor which is positioned so as to detect the presence of a user's hand or fingers near to the apparatus, such as a surface or handle. In embodiments the apparatus may be configured to detect gestures or movement of the user. On detection of a user, the apparatus may be configured to effect one or more actions, such as disabling a feature of an input or output device or alerting a user.
