JOURNAL BEARING STRUCTURE AND TURBOCHARGER HAVING THE SAME
Provided is a journal bearing structure including: a journal bearing that supports a rotary shaft by an inner circumferential surface; and a bearing housing that holds an outer circumferential surface of the journal bearing by the inner circumferential surface, the journal bearing has an oil supply hole through which the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface communicate with each other, the bearing housing has an oil supply hole opened to an inner circumferential surface, and an oil supply groove extending in a circumferential direction about an axis line and configured to guide a lubricant discharged from the oil supply hole to the oil supply hole is formed in the inner circumferential surface of the bearing housing.
TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY
A turbocharger system can include a housing that includes a through bore, a plurality of lubricant bores, a plurality of lubricant bore to through bore openings and a recessed compressor-side surface that defines in part a passage that fluidly couples at least two of the lubricant bores; a rolling element bearing unit disposed at least in part in the through bore of the housing; and, a plate that covers at least a portion of the recessed compressor-side surface of the housing.

TURBOCHARGER ACTUATION SHAFT EXHAUST LEAKAGE CONTAINMENT METHOD
An internal combustion engine, includes a turbocharger with a variable geometry turbine having an actuator shaft passing through the turbocharger housing. The actuator shaft opening is vented to the engine crankcase for diverting exhaust that passes through the actuator shaft opening to the crankcase instead of being released to the under-hood environment.
Engine equipped with supercharger
There is provided an engine equipped with a supercharger that suppresses heat deterioration of engine oil. The engine equipped with a supercharger includes a supercharger; an oil supply passage that supplies engine oil to a shaft bearing part of the supercharger; an oil discharge passage that discharges the engine oil from the shaft bearing part of the supercharger; and a water-cooling-type oil cooler. The water-cooling-type oil cooler is provided in the oil discharge passage, and the engine oil discharged from the shaft bearing part of the supercharger is cooled by the engine cooling water that passes the water-cooling-type oil cooler. The engine cooling water is desirably supplied from the cylinder jacket to the water-cooling-type oil cooler.

TURBOCHARGER
A turbocharger comprises: a rolling bearing provided with a plurality of rolling elements arranged between a raceway formed on an inner ring and a raceway formed on an outer ring; and a housing for holding the outer ring. The housing is provided with: a first dam for restricting the outflow of a lubricant through a first discharge passage for discharging the lubricant from the outer ring; and a second dam for restricting the outflow of the lubricant through a second discharge passage for discharging the lubricant from an opening formed so as to be in communication with an axially intermediate portion of the outer ring and with a peripheral wall of a space.
VEHICLE WITH TURBOCHARGED ENGINE
A vehicle with a turbocharged engine, including an engine body, an intake passage, an exhaust passage, a turbocharger, and a radiator. The radiator is provided with a cooling unit for cooling an engine coolant, and an upper tank into which the coolant is introduced after cooling the engine body. The turbocharger is provided with a turbine provided to the exhaust passage, a compressor provided to the intake passage, a coupling shaft coupling the turbine to the compressor, and bearings supporting the coupling shaft. The turbine is provided with an impeller for being rotated by introduced exhaust gas, and a turbine casing. The turbocharger is oil-cooled, and cooled by a lubricant. The turbine casing is formed from a sheet metal. The coupling shaft extends horizontally, and a height of an axial center of the shaft is above a height of an upper end of the upper tank of the radiator.
