SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AEROSOL PARTICLE PRODUCTION OF SUBMICRON AND NANO STRUCTURED MATERIALS

Disclosed herein is a multi-purpose aerosol platform capable of producing and delivery of submicron and nano structured materials for pharmaceutical, biomedical and environmental applications. Depending on the application, active chemical and biological materials may be processed from liquid dispersions into droplets and/or particle formulations. The disclosed system uses moderate gas pressures to atomize liquids into submicron-size droplets that are 10-1000 times smaller in diameter than commercial and research systems. This allows much gentler and rapid droplet-to-particle conversion, applying much smaller physical and chemical stresses on the processed materials than conventional techniques like spray drying, spray coating, spray freeze drying and other technologies. For example, the disclosed system can be used for an ultra-fine nebulization and delivery of viscous therapeutic oils including oils of medical cannabis, for which conventional nebulization systems either fail or became ineffective. Such systems could help patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) developed in hard COVID-19 cases.

RAPID FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM

A system includes a tubing set and a drive assembly. The tubing set includes inlet tubing couplable to a source of fluid, a valve coupled to the inlet tubing, a syringe coupled to the inlet tubing via the valve, and outlet tubing coupled to the valve. The valve is configured to allow fluid to be drawn from the source of fluid via the inlet tubing into a syringe body of the syringe and to be expelled from the syringe body and through the outlet tubing, and to prevent fluid from being drawn from the outlet tubing into the syringe body and to prevent fluid expelled from the syringe body from flowing through the inlet tubing. The drive assembly is configured to reversibly receive the tubing set such that a drive mechanism is engaged with a plunger of the syringe to reciprocally translate the plunger relative to the syringe body.

TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGING FLUID DELIVERY DEVICE OPERATING MODE TRANSITIONS
20230201451 · 2023-06-29 ·

Techniques disclosed herein relate to managing transitions into fluid delivery device operating modes. In some embodiments, the techniques involve obtaining status information pertaining to operation of a fluid delivery device, the status information including fluid delivery data, exiting a closed-loop operating mode of the fluid delivery device based on the status information, and, after exiting the closed-loop operating mode, causing generation of a user notification recommending a remedial action to improve viability of a subsequent instance of the closed-loop operating mode. The closed-loop operating mode is an operating mode in which dosage commands are automatically generated based on sensor measurement data.

A gas delivery conduit adapted for fluidly connecting to a respiratory gases delivery system in a high flow therapy system. In one embodiment, a nasal cannula includes a base portion defining a first therapeutic gas passageway, a nozzle disposed adjacent the base portion and defining a second therapeutic gas passageway, the first passageway being in gaseous communication with the second passageway and a conduit configured to facilitate sensing that has an inlet side that is independent of and axially spaced apart from an outlet side of the nozzle. The conduit inlet side can extend beyond the nozzle outlet side of the nasal cannula. Additionally, the nasal cannula has a feature adapted to prevent one of the conduit and the nozzle from creating a seal with a user's rare and a feature adapted to prevent one of the conduit and the nozzle from creating a seal with a user's nare.

System and method for determining a fill status of a canister of fluid in a reduced pressure treatment system

A reduced pressure treatment system is provided that includes a canister that is fluidly connected to a tissue site and is configured to receive fluid drawn from the tissue site under the influence of a reduced pressure. A reduced pressure source provides the reduced pressure and is fluidly connected to the tissue site by a fluid communication path, which may include a source conduit, the canister, and a target conduit. A sensing device communicates with the source conduit and is configured to sense a pressure in the source conduit. A valve communicates with the source conduit and is configured to vent the reduced pressure. A processing unit communicates with the sensing device and the valve and is configured to open the valve for a selected amount of time, determine a decay of reduced pressure, and determine a fill status of the canister based on the decay of reduced pressure.

A method of implanting a penis erection stimulation system into a patient's body comprises cutting the skin of the patient body, dissecting free an area near the left and right corpus cavernosum, placing a drug delivery device within the dissected area and placing at least one infusion needle of the drug delivery device in a first position in the patient's body in between the left and right corpus cavernosum.

Water out alarm

The present invention provides for an improved method of determining a water out condition in a humidified gases supply apparatus. The method includes a two step process including a primary determination of a water out condition and a secondary determination of a water out condition. This primary determination is made during observation of the normal operation of the apparatus. During the secondary determination the method takes temporary control over the humidifying part of the apparatus. The secondary determination confirms or contradicts the primary determination.
