CRANKSHAFT SUPPORT STRUCTURE
A first angle portion where part of a bearing cap side wall portion is cut out and a second angle portion where part of a bearing cap bottom surface portion is cut out are formed in a region (an angle region of a bearing cap) including a part where respective extension portions of the bearing cap side wall portion and the bearing cap bottom surface portion intersect each other, and a gap is provided between the crankcase side wall portion of a journal wall and the first angle portion and between a crankcase bottom surface portion and the second angle portion.
DRIVE TRAIN ABNORMALITY DETERMINATION DEVICE FOR STRADDLED VEHICLE, AND STRADDLED VEHICLE
A drive train abnormality determination device for a straddled vehicle that includes a drive train having a rotator. The drive train abnormality determination device includes an angle signal output unit that periodically outputs an angle signal in accordance with rotation of the rotator, a rotator rotation speed fluctuation physical quantity acquisition unit that acquires a quantity related to a fluctuation in a rotation speed of the rotator, based on the angle signal from the angle signal output unit, a rough road determination unit that determines whether a distribution state or pattern satisfies a predetermined rough road condition, a continuity determination unit that determines whether the rough road condition is continuously satisfied, and a drive train abnormality determination unit that determines, responsive to a determination by the continuity determination unit that the rough road condition is continuously satisfied, that the drive train has an abnormality in its functioning.
Motorcycle
A motorcycle comprises a vehicle body frame including: a head pipe; a pair of main frames extending rearward from the head pipe to be apart from each other in a vehicle width direction; a cross member extending in the vehicle width direction and connecting rear end portions of the pair of main frames; and a pair of rear frames extending rearward from the cross member; and an engine connected to the pair of main frames, each of the pair of main frames includes a trellis section, and a single pipe section extending rearward from the trellis section and having a rear end joined to the cross member, the trellis section is provided with a first mount to which a front portion of a cylinder head is connected, and the single pipe section is provided with a second mount to which a rear portion of the cylinder head is connected.
IN-LINE FOUR CYLINDER ENGINE
An offset in-line four cylinder engine has reduced vibration generated by a secondary inertia couple based on lateral pressures from pistons. A reference line passes through a shaft center of a crankshaft and is parallel or substantially parallel to cylinder axes of four cylinders as viewed in the axial direction of the crankshaft. As viewed in the axial direction of the crankshaft, the direction in which the reference line extends is referred to as first direction, and the direction perpendicular to the first direction is referred to as second direction. A distance between the shaft center of a first balancer shaft and the reference line as measured in the second direction is different from the distance between the shaft center of a second balancer shaft and the reference line as measured in the second direction, or a magnitude of a first unbalancing portion is different from a magnitude of the second unbalancing portion.

POWER UNIT FOR VEHICLE
A power unit including an internal combustion engine has an electric power generator mounted on an end of a crankshaft, a power transmitting member mounted on the other end of the crankshaft, and a lubricant oil filter. The oil filter partly overlaps the electric power generator as viewed in the direction of a crankshaft axis, and is positioned between the electric power generator and a crank weight on the crankshaft with respect to the direction of the crankshaft axis. The oil filter has a filter mount axis forming an acute angle to the crankshaft axis. The engine crankcase is thus prevented from bulging outwardly, and the power unit is reduced in size in its entirety.
Engine including motorized throttle valve
An engine including a motorized throttle valve that can implement mutually neighboring disposition of a throttle body and a cylinder head and can implement a good opening and closing responsibility thereof. A swelling portion is formed on a side wall of a valve chamber in such a manner so as to bite between those of throttle bodies which neighbor with each other in order to accept a protrusion of part of a valve system in a radial direction of first and second camshafts. An electric motor is disposed at one side of the group of the throttle bodies. A speed reduction mechanism, for transmitting output power of the electric motor to a valve shaft, is disposed between those throttle bodies, which neighbor with each other at a different location in the group of the throttle bodies, in a neighboring relationship with the valve chamber.
