Self refreshing particle separator

A particle separator includes a housing through which a flow stream is directed. A number of guide vanes are disposed in the housing. The guide vanes have a profile wherein the flow stream is guided to follow the profile. The guide vanes have a wall surrounding an open interior that defines a vane plenum. A plurality of through-holes extend through the wall of the guide vane. The through-holes are open to the flow stream and to the vane plenum. A duct connects with the vane plenum and is configured to discharge particles collected in the vane plenum.

Self refreshing particle separator

ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATING

An example article according to the present disclosure includes, among other possible things, a metallic substrate, and a bond coat on the metallic substrate. The bond coat includes a matrix phase, gettering particles in the matrix phase, wherein the gettering particles are reactive with oxidants, and a dispersion of matrix modifier particles in the matrix phase. The example article also includes a diffusion barrier between the bond coat and the metallic substrate, wherein the diffusion barrier is configured to inhibit diffusion of components from the bond coat into the metallic substrate. An example composite material and method of applying a barrier to a substrate are also disclosed.

ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER COATING

An example article according to the present disclosure includes, among other possible things, a metallic substrate, and a bond coat on the metallic substrate. Turbine blade tip dirt removal feature

A gaspath component for a gas turbine engine includes a platform. A body extends outward from the platform and includes at least one internal cooling passage. The internal cooling passage includes at least one particulate redirection feature defined at an end of the body opposite the platform. The at least one particulate redirection feature includes a first face oblique to and facing an expected flow of fluid through the internal cooling passage and defines at least one corresponding opening.

Turbine blade tip dirt removal feature

A gaspath component for a gas turbine engine includes a platform. A body extends outward from the platform and includes at least one internal cooling passage. The internal cooling passage includes at least one particulate redirection feature defined at an end of the body opposite the platform. The at least one particulate redirection feature includes a first face oblique to and facing an expected flow of fluid through the internal cooling passage and defines at least one corresponding opening.

A system comprising at least one processor receives sensor data representing one or more measured parameters of a turbine engine and determines at least one performance parameter based on the sensor data. The at least one performance parameter represents one or more particulate values associated with the turbine engine. The system generates a health state for the turbine engine based on the at least one performance parameter and generates a wash identifier based on the health state of the turbine engine.
