Translating fluid delivery device
A fluid delivery device is provided that includes a sleeve and a tube. The sleeve extends axially along an axis between a sleeve first end and a sleeve second end. The sleeve extends radially from a sleeve inner side to a sleeve outer side. The sleeve extends circumferentially around the axis thereby forming an internal bore at least partially formed by a bore surface at the sleeve inner side. The internal bore extends axially along the axis through sleeve between the sleeve first end and the sleeve second end. The tube is connected to the sleeve and projects out from the sleeve outer side to a tube distal end. The tube is configured with a delivery device fluid passage fluidly coupled with the internal bore. The delivery device fluid passage extends radially through the tube to a fluid passage outlet at the tube distal end.
Methods and apparatus for controlling at least part of a start-up or re-light process of a gas turbine engine
A method of controlling at least part of a start-up or re-light process of a gas turbine engine, the method comprising: determining when a flame in a combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine is extinguished, during a start-up process or re-light process or during operation; purging the combustion chamber by controlling rotation of a low pressure compressor using a first electrical machine, and controlling rotation of a high pressure compressor using a second electrical machine, the combustion chamber downstream of the low pressure compressor and high pressure compressor; and controlling rotation of the low pressure compressor using the first electrical machine, and controlling rotation of the high pressure compressor using the second electrical machine to restart the start-up process or perform the re-light process.
INTAKE-ADAPTABLE GAS GENERATOR
A system includes a generator using a fluid mixture obtained via a generator inlet, a compressor having a compressor inlet that is connected to a generator outlet by a first set of conduits, a second set of conduits connected to the compressor outlet and the generator inlet, and a sensor in communication with the second set of conduits, where a portion of the fluid mixture includes gas from a hydrocarbon well, and where exhaust fluid of the generator is provided to the compressor. A process includes obtaining a target fluid property and a fluid measurement using the sensor and modifying a parameter of a fluid control device to modify a first flow rate of the flow of the exhaust fluid through the second set of conduits relative to a second flow rate of the flow of the gas provided by the hydrocarbon well through the first set of conduits.
INTAKE-ADAPTABLE GAS GENERATOR

The invention relates to a method for monitoring the operating state of an overpressure valve of a turbine engine, the turbine engine comprising a fluid circuit, at least one pressure sensor for the fluid in the fluid circuit, a temperature sensor for the fluid in the fluid circuit, said overpressure valve being configured to limit the maximum fluid pressures in the fluid circuit, and the method comprising the following steps: —(E2) determining an opening or closing indicator of the overpressure valve on the basis of the change in the fluid pressure over time; —(E3) determining an operating state of the valve as a function of a fluid threshold temperature and of the determined opening or closing indicator of the overpressure valve.

System and method for synthesizing engine output power
A method and a system for synthesizing output power provided by an engine are provided. The engine comprising a compressor section, a combustor, and a turbine section in serial fluid flow communication. The engine is operated and, during the operating of the engine, a pressure of fluid at an exit of the compressor section, a temperature upstream of the exit of the compressor section, and a fuel flow rate to the engine are determined. A synthesized value of output power provided by the engine is determined based on a product of at least a first factor, a second factor, and a third factor, the first factor being a function of the pressure, the second factor being a function of the temperature, and the third factor being a function of the fuel flow rate. The synthesized value of output power provided by the engine is output.
System and method for synthesizing engine output power
A method and a system for synthesizing output power provided by an engine are provided. The engine comprising a compressor section, a combustor, and a turbine section in serial fluid flow communication. The engine is operated and, during the operating of the engine, a pressure of fluid at an exit of the compressor section, a temperature upstream of the exit of the compressor section, and a fuel flow rate to the engine are determined. A synthesized value of output power provided by the engine is determined based on a product of at least a first factor, a second factor, and a third factor, the first factor being a function of the pressure, the second factor being a function of the temperature, and the third factor being a function of the fuel flow rate. The synthesized value of output power provided by the engine is output.
Gas turbine engine and methods of operating same
A gas turbine engine that includes an inlet volume flow control appliance and methods of operating the same are provided. The method includes operating the gas turbine engine with the inlet volume flow control appliance supplying a compressor inlet volume flow that is below a maximum compressor inlet volume flow. A mass flow of a liquid agent is added to a compressor gas mass flow while the gas turbine engine is operated with a compressor inlet volume flow below a maximum compressor inlet volume flow. The mass flow of a liquid agent may be controlled as a function of the pitch of variable inlet guide vanes. The method further comprises adjusting the volume flow control appliance to increase the compressor inlet volume flow and increasing the mass flow of liquid agent added to the compressor gas mass flow while the inlet volume flow control appliance increases the compressor inlet volume.
Methods and apparatus to detect air flow separation of an engine
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to detect air flow separation of an engine. An example apparatus includes hardware, and memory including instructions that, when executed, cause the hardware to at least determine an inlet flow separation parameter based on a first pressure value from a first pressure sensor included in a nacelle of a turbofan and a second pressure value from a second pressure sensor included in the nacelle, determine a severity level parameter based on the inlet flow separation parameter, the severity level parameter based on a difference between the first pressure value and the second pressure value, and adjust a contribution of airflow from aft of a fan of the turbofan based on the severity level parameter.
