A method for performing a regeneration cycle for regenerating a diesel particulate filter of a transport refrigeration system. The method includes increasing an air intake throttling level of an engine intake air flow by reducing an air control valve area. The method also includes supplementing the temperature increase of the air intake throttling by energizing an engine preheater.

Control device of internal combustion engine

A control device of an internal combustion engine can respond to the variation of the flow reduction rate attributable to the difference in a clogging condition, and which can detect a deposit accumulation amount even if no idle condition is provided like HEV, etc. In a control device of an internal combustion engine, a map correction section determines a correction amount in accordance with an approximate line result based on an air amount at a predetermined opening degree at which the measurement of the air amount by an air flow meter is sufficiently performed with the exception of a first predetermined opening degree in the case where the measurement of the air amount by the air flow meter has not been performed sufficiently in the first predetermined opening degree in a current operation cycle.

Engine intake system

An intake passage includes: a main intake passage provided with a throttle valve and extending from one side toward the other side along a cylinder bank; and a bypass passage provided with an EGR valve and connected to a part of the main intake passage located toward the other side with respect to the throttle valve. The bypass passage extends from a branch of the main intake passage toward the one side and then turns back and extends toward the other side. The EGR valve is located in a part of the bypass passage extending toward the other side and overlapping with a part extending from the branch to the one side.

Control apparatus for vehicle

A vehicle control apparatus calculates a target speed value of an engine rotational speed that is required to provide a required torque value of an engine brake torque, and controls shifting of an automatic transmission such that the engine rotational speed is approximated to the target speed value of the engine rotational speed. The vehicle control apparatus determines whether the target speed value exceeds a predetermined threshold value. When the target speed value exceeds the predetermined threshold value, the vehicle control apparatus controls the shifting of the automatic transmission such that the engine rotational speed is held not higher than the predetermined threshold value, and controls a throttle valve such that the throttle valve is opened.

Engine intake system

An intake system of an engine supplies gas at least containing fresh air to each cylinder. The system includes an EGR passage that communicates with an internal space of a downstream intake passage and introduces some EGR gas into the downstream intake passage. The EGR passage includes a projected section in a substantially polygonal or cylindrical shape that is projected to the internal space of the downstream intake passage. The projected section is formed in such a shape that a projection length H1 in an outer circumferential surface on an upstream side is longer than a projection length H2 in an outer circumferential surface on a downstream side.
