INTELLIGENT ENGINE AND PUMP CONTROLS

A method for controlling air and fuel supply to an engine of a machine includes: detecting, by a processing circuit, a change in a loading condition on the engine of the machine based on use of an implement system of the machine; and providing, by the processing circuit, a command to (i) a fueling system of the machine to increase an amount of fuel provided to the engine by the fueling system and (ii) an air handling system of the machine to increase at least one of (a) an amount of air or (b) a boost pressure of the air provided to the engine by the air handling system in response to an increase in the loading condition.

Diesel engine powered transportation refrigeration system

A transport refrigeration system (10) includes a refrigerant vapor compression transport unit (12) including a compressor (14). A drive unit is utilized to provide power to the compressor. The drive unit includes a diesel powered engine (32) and a diesel particulate filter in operable communication with the diesel powered engine to filter combustion particulates from an exhaust gas output from the diesel powered engine. An air control valve is in operable communication with the diesel powered engine to control a flow of air into an air inlet of the diesel powered engine, thereby controlling an exhaust gas temperature of the diesel engine to aid in regeneration of the diesel particulate filter.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN ENGINE

A method for operating an engine is disclosed. The method may include supplying air from a primary air supply unit to an intake conduit. The method may also include supplying air to the engine from the intake conduit. The method may further include selectively supplying air from a secondary air supply unit to the intake conduit. In addition, the method may include maintaining an air fuel ratio between a first threshold value and a second threshold value during an increase in engine load increase by controlling a supply of air from the secondary supply unit to the intake conduit.
